Oh, So You Think You Want To Know...

Okay, so, what exactly is this "yaoi" crap? Who gives a damn about "yuri"? And written violence is pathetic, so what's with this "slash" warning?

Oh, man, did you stumble onto the motherload...

Never you fear, however! Guru Cassima is here to save you! Let's take these questions one in a time, in a good, sensible order. How about--just for propriety's sake--in the order they're asked? Sound good?

First of all, yaoi. What is it? Well, it's Japanese. Basically, it means that some boys'll be gettin' it on. Yeah, I'm talking homosexual relationships. Boys hugging, kissing, loving, having hot, steamy, blow-out-the-floor sex, that sort of thing. Simple, ne? If this is not your cup of tea, I suggest you find your jollies elsewhere. :)

Okay, now that that's covered... on to yuri. If you understand yaoi, you'll understand yuri, because it runs along the same lines: yuri is Japanese (again), and denominates girls in homosexual relationships. Yeah, girls hugging, kissing, loving, having bumping, grinding sex... etc, etc. Okay, I'm probably not going to have any girls having sex... but the Sailor Starlights are kinda hard to classify, being both man and woman, so I figured I better warn people. Okay, on to the fun one.

Slash. Why do I care? Okay, first of all, let's get one thing straight: SLASH IS NOT VIOLENCE!!! Okay, it can get violent, but that's not the point. It stems from "/" used to denominate relationship pairings--ie, Duncan/Methos. Get it? Yeah, we're talking another word for yaoi. Damn those stupid people with their same-sex relationships, ne? hehehe...

If you're still reading this, that's a good sign. It means my insanity has not yet been fully recognized... bwahahaha! Okay, calm down, Cassima... If any of this scares you, and you don't want to read it--fear not! I'll mark every piece with a relationship warning, and a yaoi/yuri/slash/het if it needs it. I'll tell you now, however, that the fanfics based on anime (Japanese cartoons) and/or manga (Japanese comic books) will mostly contain yaoi/yuri relationships. While I realize this may not be everyone's cup of tea, it's mine, so--be-deeeeeeeh! :p Live with it or leave.

Now, for those who are still here, I offer a Het warning. What, there's more??? NANI??? Okay, yeah, occasionally I dabble in Heterosexual relationships. I can't help it; I can't see Mulder as gay, and I think he and Scully are so cute together! I'll always put a warning up for those die-hard slashers, however, so never you fear!
