WOLF, THE. Risqué + funny for its era, 'The Wolf' began in millitary publications during the 2nd World War. The title character had a lupine-enough visage, but was a wolf more in the sense of a horny GI. After inspiring such fare as MGM's animated 'Red Hot Riding Hood' series, he went mainstream + evolved into a little boy. This syndicated version was called 'Willie'
