Interview with Maeglin Xakk Xagroth Awamane of
Hails, how's it going?
"Hails, Things are okay I guess. Could be better and yourself?"

Things are fine. Can you introduce yourself and the band?
"I am Maeglin Xakk Xagroth Anwamane and I play in the mournful black metal band Thy Vast Despair whi only consists of myself."

There really isn't much on Thy Vast Despair, can you tell us about the band?
"I started Thy Vast Despair back in 2004 and I started writing music for my demo Panzergeist which was done by winter 2005 but wasn't released till 2006 by Desastrious Records. There are no other members of Thy Vast Despair don't know if there ever will be.I don't want others getting in the way of my visions and messing things up. But Thy Vast Despair is strong on its way of creating more utterly desturbing and unsettling releases."
You are currently working on new material for a full length, is there concrete information on how many songs will be on the album, who is releasing it and when?
"There is concrete on the full length but before that gets to itsbecoming. I am working on a small release for a 4 way split which is being released by Desastrious Records. I am contributing 5 tracks to it; Intro, Outro and 3 full length songs. I'm not too sure of the release of it, probably this summer 2006. As far as the full length it is going to be 9 tracks long. Again and intro, outro and 7 full track. I have no information on who is going to put it out its all up in the air in that subject but the release will show more of the true sounds of Thy Vasat Despair."

About this 4 way split who will appear on it, I know Plague is on it but who are the other two bands?
"The bands Inconu and Angelcide shall be appearing on this split which shal be a very dark and melancholic release."

Lyrically Thy Vast Despair has themes of Hatred, Despair and Darkness. Where is your inspirationo gathered from for you to write this type of music?
"I get the inspiration from what is happeining in this world that is falling part and worsens each day. The pointlessness of religions pushing views and trying to control others. Lies that aren't seen by all the people who are blind to the true reality of things. It seems like there is no hope for anything but there is still some will left. But hatred is a part of this but I get other inspirations from dreams and visions that come to me. Of course despair is just there when I look upon everything."

Currently are you participating on any side projects?
"I have another project called Null which shall be heard from soon. It is a funeral doom project with black metal influences and I am also working with others for maybe to become projects."

What do you think of political views in black metal (nsbm), will your music ever incorporate any of these?
"Well I have no problems with the NSBM views since a good number of bands that I listen to and that have inspired me are NS. They have a lot of good points so I don't think they are bad in any way or form. People just think they are just all stupid because they support white pride. But its much more than that people don't see that. I mean having white pride has such a negative view on it these days which isn't right. What is so wrong about loving your own race and protecting in which one believes? There is so much to get into but I have no problems with the NS views and you can even say Thy Vast Despair has some NS views."

Well that about wraps this brief interview. I would like to thank Maeglin Xakk Xagroth Anwamane for taking time to do this interview. The last words are yours.
"Its no problem. All I have to say is stay strong to the awoken ones and my hails to them."
