Interview with Koldemon of
Hails, how's it going?
"Good."

For those not familiar with Death Mountain can you tell us a bit about yourself and the band?
"Well to start I am Koldemon founder of Dead Mountain along with my life long demon in crime Decimator (bass). We are here to aid in the fight against christianity. We play old school black metal from our hearts with no fucking compromise. We now have our new drummer Ghost and he is a great new addition to the band."

As stated, Dead Mountain arose from the ashes of Deathshed. What was the reason for disbanding Deathshed and what inspired the birth of Dead Mountain?
"Well the disbanding of Deathshed was due to illness in the band. The reason for the birth of Dead Mountain was to do something different than all the bands were doing around our way. They were all mostly hardcore bands and cover bands, we also want to do something true to our hearts and souls. Deathshed  was more of a hardcore type band unlike Dead Mountain. Decimator and I always wanted to start a black metal band because it was more of our style of playing along with what we believed in."

Dead Mountain plays old school black metal (the way it should be). Is Dead Mountain going to make the same move as some black metal bands have made and change the music style or direction?
"No. No changes for now, but you never know what the future brings. Things change."

Are the members of Dead Mountain currently partaking in other bands, or is this the focal point for the members?

"Well I am in a few projects. Decimator, no. Ghost is in some cover band. Dead Mountain is basically the focal point I guess you could say."

Dark Hymns was released independently so I am pretty sure you know how it was received by the fans. Has it sold out or do you still have copies left?

" Just been doing cdrs for people lately. Yes, I have receieved a good response from it. If anyone wants one I usually just give them on for free. It's not about money, buy yeah the first batch sould out."

Brotherhood of Hate, Volume 1 is a split between Dead Mountain and Droomstyyg, how did this come out. Was this a good experience or bad and based upon it would you work with other bands for split cds in the future?
"Well, I liked Droomstyyg's tunes, contacted him asked him if he wanted to do a split, it went from there. Yes it was a great experience, and yes there is a split coming up soon with Cuntworm and Alignak. I think splits are a great thing and would do more in the future."

I really like the Dark Hymns demo. It was long enough to be a full length, but is there a full length cd in the works at this point?
"In 2008 we are going to record our best hymns and release it full length. We are focusing on the split right now."

What can we expect from Dead Mountain in the future?
"More blasphemy and hate towards the lie called christianity."

Well that about wraps up this interview. I would like to thank Koldemon for taking time in part taking in this interivew.
The last words are yours.
