Interview with Belial of
Hails, how's it going?
"Awesome."

Can you introduce yourself for those unfamiliar with Breath of Sorrows?
"Belial , I'm the vocalist and founder of the band and currently doing BoS a one man project."

It is stated on your Official website that Breath of Sorrows is no longer a full-band can you tell us about that?
"We were having problems with the band members, some couldn't learn the music at all, other's were booking shows without telling other band members so when the date would come to play a show, some of us didn't know. Really in general it was lack of communication."

It also states that there are talks about Wyrmtongue joining, so this is still not official? Will you put a full new line up or will you keep the band as Belial and Axiom(session)?
"I don't think Wyrmtongue is joining the band anymore we might share ideas that's how it looks like for now with Wyrmtongue, Axiom well he only recorded bass for me on the song tilte 'Carved Emotions' and live stuff, butother than that I've done all the recording with Lord Scorpius
(DemonSword, Sumeria) its always been Belial and Scorpius, the recent stuff its me trying to carry the name."

"Through Darkness to Battle I Ride" was first a DIY cdr in 100 copies
(I am aware that you ran out of those), and later that year it was released on Wraith Productions on 1000 copies. How has it been received  by the fans?
"Through Darkness to Battle I Ride has a lot of mixture of tracks, some old as back in '97. I have had no compalints or bad mouth yet, but I'm sure some hate it or hate the style of music I play. It's sad because they severed the scene and then ask why are we always preach unity."

'
A Grave Without a Sword' is a reprint of 'Carved Emotions.' Can you tell us about this reprint, why have you decided to reprint it?
"Well 'Carved Emotions' was really put together quick. Me and Lord Scorpius did it in 2 days, we recorded so much material we were trying to figure out what songs we were going to put on the cd because we have enough music for probably 2 more cds, and plus we had that festival Return of Darkness & Evil 3 and wanted to sell some and gaveall of them away trying to push new material out there and its being reprinted because some of the tracks changed. Some were switched and I'm trying to get a label to press it pro."

There are plans to do a split album with Typhus, how is that working out and if all goes well when can we expect the album to come out?
"The split with Typhus has been confirmed, its a 7 inch vinyl and its been pushed back twice because lack of fundings but from what I've heard from the Dark Horizon records it might be out early this year or mid of next year."

Even though Breath of Sorrows had a set back, will it stop you from writing music?
"Sometimes I wish I could, its a drug for me."

Besides BoS are there any other bands/projects you are currently taking part in?
"Not really, just recording local talents in town."

Where do you see BoS in 5 years?
"I would love to leave a scar in the BM scene. I wante people to be in 5 years from now smoking or drinking while enjoying my music, because that's what I was doing 5 yars ago with Darkthrone cds."

I would like to thank Belial of Breath of Sorrows for being a part of this.

Well that about wraps this brief interview ... the last words are yours.
"To all those people that take a moment of their lifes to listen or check out Breath of Sorrows, I thank you for doing so."
