Writes technical system documentation. Works in all phases of development, design, and implementation of database system projects including cost-analysis, estimating, program specifications, business-wide database design, user meetings, and so on. Helps design and build web-enabled database systems. Software includes Oracle9i,  Oracle8i, SQL, PL/SQL, ERWin, MS Access, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle Replication, HTML, Microsoft Office Suite. Managed Oracle database for two sites; designed and installed database applications; designed and programed Web-database integration; designed and maintained business wide data dictionary and data sources inventory including data security. Supervised interns and additional consultants. Wrote specifications and time estimates for project tasks. Participated in testing of all database-related software including COTS packages and custom code. Hardware platforms running Oracle were NT version 4.0 and Sun Solaris version 2.6. Application were developed using Oracle version 7 and 8, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Logicworks Erwin (Database diagrammer), and NetDynamics Studio and Server (Java Application designer and server).

Team leader for staff of 4 programmers. Projects for State of Wisconsin: Tracking system for conservation and environmental improvement grants administered by State Dept. of Nat. Resources. Tracks 32 separate grant programs in consolidated tracking system. Oracle RDBMS on VAX/VMS. Recycling project tracking system for state wide recycling efforts by towns and private businesses; Recycling Markets cross reference directory distributed to businesses and governmental units. Oracle RDBMS on VAX/VMS. Purchase Order tracking system for all government purchases over $500. SQL/DS on IBM mainframe.

10/83-10/86: Database Administrator, Telephone Data Systems/Computer Services, Madison, WI

Responsible for Database Administration of distributed network of Oracle databases across the US. Reviewed database designs for all projects. BETA tester for Oracle Database and Oracle Application software. Developed and conducted in-house trainng for more than 70 programmers on SQL, application tuning, and database design. Supervised team of 9 programmers. Developed and enforced data naming standards, design guidelines, and on-line screen layouts.
