sola Scriptura:
the definition is here

What is this page all about?

You have probably stumbled onto this page by some accident of Yahoo! and key-word confusion, but welcome anyway -- I hope you find the few notes stored here of some remote use.

This page is available because I spend a great deal of my time conversing with people about Jesus Christ and the Bible.  Many of them are friends of mine, and they would agree with me that the Bible is God's own word, and Jesus Christ is God incarnate, the Son of God, the second person of the Trinity.

Many others, however, do not.  In those conversations, I find that certain passages of Scripture are simply prone to abuse by people who have not really read the Bible themselves but have heard some passages quoted in other contexts.  And to my great discouragement, those people are legion -- they are everywhere, and one man cannot possibly correct their miseducation on all the passages they think they understand.

That hasn't stopped me (or others, far more able and well-known than me) from trying.  The links listed here are selected after about 5 years of amateur apologetics on the internet -- from the discussion forums on MSNBC, the ill-fated IM-UR.com, and largely from interaction with various thinkers and talkers at the well-visited CARM.org.  They are simple essays which touch on the passages of Scripture that are frankly to most abused by people who have little knowledge of what is actually in the Bible and little care for representing it well.

On caveat before we begin: in calling those who disagree with me on there passages of "little knowledge" and "little care" regarding the Bible, I am not trying to insult.  Someone who would say about me, "centuri0n has little knowledge of what actually goes on in the NFL and has little care fore representing it well, " would be right on the money -- because I admit that I don't care if the officials in the NFL are any different from the "officials" of the WWE, and in any case it is merely entertainment and not of actual consequence.

I believe that the first step for anyone who disagrees with me about these passages is to decide for himself what he really thinks and knows about the contents of the Bible.  If you think the Bible is just another book, and doesn't say anything of consequence, this page simply is not for you.  However, if you find yourself inclined to believe that the Bible has something of significance to say, please follow these few links and consider what they say.
