And She is Morning Light      by Carlos Rull

June 4, 1982

A morning dawns so peacefully,
a silent presence, ever still.

Puffs of clouds that crown the sky,
reflecting an orange, approaching light.

Paintbrush strokes of blues and grays,
as dawn's light shimmers behind the hills.

A brilliance held by orange light,
reaching upward, ever still.

Lonely stars that run away,
the last star twinkles through a cloud.

A bluish dark still paints the sea,
its blanket casts an eerie shroud.

Mountains east and ocean west,
western sleep and eastern light,
beauty beheld to ponder why,
a glory within this endless sky.
