CARLA ABELLANA is the daughter of actor Rey "PJ" Abellana who was himself active in the Filipino movies industry in his time.
Carla is a graduate of De La Salle University with a degree in Psychology. As a commercial model, she already appeared in Palmolive and Jollibee Ice Craze commercials.
Her big break in showbiz is when she was chosen by the Kapuso Network to portray the lead role of "Rosalinda" in its local remake. "Rosalinda" is a Mexican novela popularized by Thalia and it was aired in ABS-CBN. Ironically, the local version is franchised by GMA-7 which is the arch rival of the Kapamilya network.
As of this writing, Carla and the cast of Rosalinda has already started taping episodes of the show. Carla is paired with hearthrob Geoff Eigenmann as Fernando Jose and many has observed the compatibility of the two young stars.
