After 75 hours of labour, Emma was born with the help of a mid-wife, a doula, and an OB-GYN doctor, by c-section,  She looks just like I did when I was an infant!

Here is the story!
I went into labour on Friday, April 16, at around 7pm.  I could just feel my stomach tightening every 10 minutes.  It didn't hurt at all!  I was so excited!  But nothing was progressing so I went to bed and slept well.  Saturday was about the same.
Sunday the contractions were varying from 7-10 minutes and getting a bit stronger.  I was sure it would happen that day.  It didn't, so I went to bed, but was woken up a couple of times every hour because the contractions were getting stronger.  Since I was already a week over due, I already had a Non-Stress Test scheduled for Monday.  I went to the appointment and the nurses discovered that Emma's heart was slowing down everytime I had a strong contraction.  It wasn't often, so my midwife and the nurse really weren't sure if Emma was in distress or not.
I decided to ask to have my water broken, and the doctor on-call agreed.  He broke my water at 4:15pm and noticed that there was meconium in the fluid.  I was given oxytocin which started stronger contractions, and by 9-10pm Emma still wasn't coming down the birth canal.  I was still only dialated 2-3cm.  Nothing had changed since the morning.  It was decided that I had to have an emergency c-section.  It went very well, and Emma was finally born!  It was so wonderful to finally see my beautiful baby!  I had a wonderful experience and can't wait to do it again!
