Three Hour Tour
1954 26 foot Chris Craft Sedan with Flying Bridge
The saga of the Three Hour Tour, as she has affectionately come to be known, began about eight years ago.  I was driving west on Big Ridge Road in Biloxi, MS, when it happened.  I saw this beautiful Chris Craft sitting up on blocks.   I must admit, that I was envious of her owner, thinking what a wonderful project he had. But, as the months past, there was no change, only gradual decay from exposure to the elements.  I began to drive by her more often, looking from my car, wondering why there was no progress.
Then, on a Saturday in 1997, as I drove by, the house, there was a sign, Garage Sale.  I stopped.  Gradually I brought up the subject of the boat.  He offered to sell it to me, but after considering all of my other committments, I sadly said no. I continued to drive by, each time reconsidering my decision not to purchase her, and each time, the decision was still no.
Christmas came in 1998 and I had all but given up my dream of owning this decaying beauty.  However, as I was opening my presents, there it was.  The bow light.  Then another part of the boat.  I turned and asked my wife, "Do I own a boat?"  She lovingly said "Yes, but you have to go and get it."
