Scrip Frequently asked Questions

Q: What's involved in joining "scrip"?

A: Just call Greg Brawley at (949) 770-0547, or  e-mail him at:  [email protected]. Greg will add you to the list of other Cougar families in the program, and tell you how to begin.

Q: How does the Cougar Football team profit from my using Scrip?

A: Last year,  Scrip families earned enough money for the team to purchase a new video projector for Friday Film Nights, and all the beautiful renovations to Cougar Stadium this year. (Thank you, scrip families!)

Q: How does my family profit from using Scrip, or eScrip?

A: After the first $180 goes into the general football fund, every scrip dollar you earn can be rebated to you for any football related expenses your family incurs.

Q: How do we get our money?

A: Simply send your receipts to Greg Brawley for reimbursement by check. Reimbursable expenses may include, Summer Camp fees, Spring Gear fees, Meals fees, clothing, cleats, even any special football gear you may buy at Lapes, or other sporting goods stores. In short, any football related expense can be reimbursed to you with money you earn from participating in Scrip.

Q: What is "eScrip", and how is it different from Scrip?

A: eScrip is part of the Scrip Program. eScrip is registering your club card, or credit cards, in order to automatically earn money to your account, without having to use paper scrip. Every time you slide your card at Vons/Pavilions, buy Chevron gasoline, or eat out and shop at participating area merchants, money is automatically put into your account.

Q: Can you give me an example of how it works best?

A: Yes. I use a credit card for many of my purchases, one which earns me free airline miles . When I shop at Vons, and use my Vons card and credit card, I am receiving the following: free airline miles, and a  cash rebate to my football Scrip account - in addition to any weekly specials the store may be having.

Q: Besides the money, is there any other good reason that my family should use Scrip?

A: Yes.  Scrip is something that we can do to help ourselves. Before we go and ask others for donations, shouldn't we be helping ourselves first? (Especially when buying groceries, etc., is something we already do all the time?)
