The Cougar Football Spring Game was held on Saturday, June 10, and by every account, it was a wonderful success. Pat Forster stepped up to the microphone and did some creative  announcing. The teams looked great. There is no doubt that the young men who took the field on Saturday were much bigger and stronger than they were last season.  They seem to be much more comfortable with the plays and the system, too, after having a year to learn them.  There were some fine touchdown runs; crisp, accurate passing; and some stellar defensive plays. Get ready  for a great season!

If you thought last year's turnout was tremendous, this year's was even larger. The crowd took advantage the best lunch deal in the county,  as the Lombardi Family catered a fantastic barbecue. A person needed three hands to carry all that delicious food! 

The stadium has never looked better.  Steve Swartz was given a rousing hand of applause for the incredible work he has done. You have to see it to believe it. How proud we will all be when other schools visit Cougar Stadium in the Summer and Fall!  We will have photos of the new, improved, Cougar Stadium ,on this site, in the very near future. 

A record number of families (for so early in the year)  signed up for season tickets, along with the coveted priority parking spaces. If you were planning to wait until later in the year, you may want to reconsider, as spaces are already filling up fast.

Finally, speaking of filling up fast... There was much talk after the game by people planning to attend the inaugural Black and Gold Ball. Players are going individually, or with dates. Parents and boosters are looking forward to attending the first such evening, of what will surely be many more to come. It seems that Alumni from many different years are calling and saying that they and their former teammates would like to attend.  Overheard were some of the great prizes and auction offerings: hotel stays, complete dinner evenings, Las Vegas get-aways, and many more.  A word to the wise: Reservations for the ball are limited. Don't miss this fantastic inaugural event! Get you ticket requests in this weekend, or ASAP. Alumni - call your friends and make this a time to remember for years to come.
