MECHANICS OF LAND SCAMS

The methods of land scamming are surprisingly simple and usually involve the manipulation of land records to either make it look as though a particular individual or group has either more land than is really the case in order to fool mortgagees and gullible lenders or conversely to make it appear that the scammer has less land than they really own in order to avoid tax, divorcing spouses or the attentions of law enforcement.

Land titling systems can also be used very effectively for laundering cash which is a slightly more complex activity.
