               Shamir and Arens, Please reconsider
                        Deporting the 12

Housni Mubarak, George Bush, Thomas Pickering, and Shimon Peres surely are all
peace loving men who want nothing more than to see Israel live in peace with her Arab
neighbors. All have asked that the decision to deport 12 terrorists from Israel be rescinded.
I add my voice to that request.
Please consider the already incredible pressure put upon this nation by the nations
of the world over these 12 heroes. When all is said and done, even if we succeed in ridding
ourselves of these terrorists what will we have accomplished? A mere drop in the bucket will
have been spilled out and the negative propaganda against us is already legion.
I understand the anger and frustration which leads you to taking this step. But I
urge you to consider the fact that you are accomplishing relatively little and paying dearly for
doing so. By all means we must take strong steps against Arab terror. But even to execute 12
murderers will not stop Arab terror. It needs to be obliterated by the roots.
First of all we must immediately define, in realistic terms, backed up with action, the
status of Judea Samaria and Gaza. Using, as the United States does, the Geneva Convention
rules against deporting nationals out of their homeland can only apply to citizens of a
legitimate sovereign country. The so called "occupied territories" simply do not qualify for the
Geneva guidelines.
All Arabs living anywhere in Israel, on either side of the so-called "green line", are
not nationals, rather guests of the Jewish State. Any time these alien guests outwear their
welcome and present themselves as a danger to the Jewish legitimate inhabitants, it is the
obligation of the authorities to remove them, be they 12, or 1,200,000. No outside nation has
any business dictating to us how and when we protect our population from those who come to
destroy us.
Mr. Arens and Mr. Shamir, if you are, indeed, ready to take upon yourselves the
great pressures resulting from the deportation of a mere 12 criminals, why not do something
that will really make a difference, and get no worse pressure for your efforts?
But do it in a logical sequence which will protect our population and prevent future
unnecessary acts of terrorism:
       1) Immediately annex all Jewish lands to the Jewish State, thus ridding yourself of
the burdensome terminology of "occupied territories".
       2) Retroactively disenfranchise all non Jews in the country. Israel has always been
recognized as the Jewish State, as such it is absurd for anyone other than Jews to be citizens
here.
       3) Enact a law which will punish any non citizen who refers to the concept of
"Palestine" in any other than an historical implication, with immediate expulsion.
This is but the first few steps to put an end to the impossible paradox of our lending
legitimacy to an illegitimate entity which threatens our very existence! If we refuse to face this
very basic problem head on and soon, we will only be encouraging the continuation of Arab
terror as an effective method to destroy this country from within.
So let us stop giving the world a platform to condemn us every time we choose to
rid ourselves of a handful of murderers. Do it once, properly, and let's get on with building
our country as a place where all Jews can live freely, and without fear.
