Which Agreement would you prefer to have,
The Covenant on Mount Sinai, or the Deed to the Brooklyn Bridge?
                         August 4, 1998

"When G-d will bring you to the Land to which you are to possess, He will drive out many
nations from before you . . . And when the L-rd thy G-d shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt
smite them and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor show mercy
unto them". Deuteronomy VII:1,2

"When thou art inundated by acts of terror, and the nations of the world challenge thy
very right to the Land, thou shalt raise up the King of Terror and pay homage to him. Thou shalt
apportion certain percentages of thy Land unto him, provide him with weapons, strategic
fortresses, and encourage him to raise an army therein. Thou shalt release murderers of thy
people from thy prisons and permit them to become soldiers under the King of Terror. And thou
shalt imprison thine own children for daring to strike back at those who murder your people.
Thou shalt call this philosophy, 'Peace with Security'".
                                   Torat Netanyahu, "making Oslo better"

The fact is that the Jewish people already have a Torah. We do not need clever leaders to
write new ones for us. Peres still thinks that he is the angel of peace who has a magic wand which
will turn Arafat into Mother Theresa. In fact he really thinks that he has already accomplished
this feat.

Netanyahu, on the other hand, has stated his position that Oslo is bad. Yet, rather than
reject this act of treason outright, he has decided to take this vile agreement and sugar coat it.
Since the former government recognized Arafat as a man of peace, Netanyahu has no choice but
to hold his nose and pretend that the stench is not there.

It is not enough to say that Oslo is bad. One does not buy a new car which only has three
wheels with the intention of making it work by fixing it and making it better. . . he runs from such
a lemon. We are not talking about a new car. We are talking about our only homeland. The
Jewish people have waited for two thousand years for the privilege to return home to Israel. We
began to return way before we even had sovereignty in our Land. Our people endured untold
hardships and persecution just for wanting to come home. How is it conceivable that, at this
miraculous stage of Jewish destiny, when our homeland has begun to be returned to us, when we
have a sovereign Jewish state and a mighty Jewish army, that our leaders can dare consider
willingly parting with even one grain of Jewish sand on the Gaza beach?

Our children are murdered, our soldiers are attacked by our "peace partners", Arafat
demands that we give him more and more, and we "negotiate". The PLO teaches their children
to prepare to die in the effort to destroy Israel in the name of Mohammad, and we sit silently.
When a lone young Jewish woman reacts by depicting such a "Mohammad" as a pig, then our
security forces spare no effort to arrest, try and imprison her for daring to respond to haters of her
people. And when a young Jewish farmer, Dov Dribben, is murdered in cold blood at his home,
the Israel Security Services are baffled and cannot find the Arab murderers. Yet when Jewish
youngsters wreck vengeance for the murder by resorting to petty vandalism, then our security
services come alive and track down the "criminals", arresting them and treating them as adult
terrorists under interrogation without counsel for days.

It would seem that only our youngsters feel the pain of living under a Jewish leadership
which has abandoned Zionism and Jewish pride. The only difference between "right" and left in
our Knesset is one of degree. A leftist is one who wants to give Arafat all of Judea and Samaria,
while a right-winger is one who only wants to give away some of it to the terrorist chieftain. We
already have a signed agreement which was given to us on Mount Sinai. How dare we reject that
agreement for a new deed to the Brooklyn Bridge?

Redemption will not come from the halls of the Knesset. It will not come from our
depraved political leadership. G-d will redeem us when we reach out to Him and sincerely call
unto Him for help. For this to happen we need real Jewish leadership. Where are our rabbis? It
can only be under a truly Jewish leader who bends his will to that of our Torah that our people
will rally. Our path is straight and unambiguous. There is nothing to negotiate. The Land of
Israel belongs exclusively to the People of Israel. Redemption of the Jewish People and all of the
nations of the world will only occur when the Jewish People stands up and serves her G-d as
commanded in His Torah. It is up to us to reject the used car philosophy of our government and
demand that our rabbis reject politics and start upholding our Torah, loudly and proudly, before
our nation and the world. Now, more than ever before, is the time to proudly declare Jewish
imperatives rather than political ones.
