Who is the real Murderer of Jews?
                Who has Created Jewish Vigilantes?
Who labeled a Revolution a "Political Demonstration"?
Where is the Still Small Voice of Truth?

                          January 1991

Last week it was reported that someone dressed in an army uniform and wearing a
kipa, indiscriminately fired into an Arab car near Gush Etzion, seriously injuring the occupants
of the car. From all "extremes" of the political spectrum came universal condemnation of the
"perpetrator".
It is now that we really feel the loss of Rabbi Kahane, z"l, may HaShem avenge his
blood. He alone among all the so called leaders, would most certainly have stood up against
all the whining liberals who run to cry over the pain of their enemies but are quick to forget
the murder of Jews. Never did he call for Jewish terrorism, but neither would he speak against
it when it occurred. On the contrary, he applauded it. This was not some strange macabre
publicity stunt, rather a deep understanding that for any Jew to take a life and risk his own he
must have a very special love for his country and his people; not because he was a racist or
sought the death of anyone, rather because he recognized the fact that we are at war. You do
not coexist in a war. You either win or lose. The Jewish State simply cannot afford to lose.
As long as Jews are being murdered in this country every day and our government
insists that we must live in peace with our deadly enemies rather than take effective steps to
remove them from our midst, how dare anyone condemn Jewish counter terror? Any normal
human being will react if he is attacked. If he knows he has an army or police force which will
protect him, he should rely upon them alone. But if he cannot rely upon them to protect his
life, the blame for such acts of frustration lies squarely upon the governmental leaders for
failing to do their jobs.
The vigilante is not the villain, he is the victim. His loved ones and friends were
murdered, just because they were Jews living in their country, by an Arab people who are
enemies of the Jewish State and the Jewish people. Revolutionaries are treated as mere
criminals rather than enemies of the state, thus encouraging further such acts of rebellion and
murder. Rebellion against the state is a crime that should be punished with a mandatory death
sentence. Only thus can the security of the state be protected. It is wrong for private
individuals to take the law into their own hands. But if our government consistently follows a
policy which enables and even encourages our enemies to murder Jews, we must consider
carefully upon whom the blame really lies when we find an otherwise gentle and peace loving
people being forced to turn to the tools of Esau as a last, desperate resort to save future
Jewish victims and preserve the Jewish State.
