Even though the Satan is Dancing
                       Truth will Prevail
                          June 8, 1998

If we look at the events occurring all over the world and try to make sense of them, we find
ourselves unable to do so. Children come to school with guns and shoot their classmates and
teachers; husbands are murdering their wives; cults commit mass suicide to find a better life;
and here, in Israel, murderous terrorists are accepted as partners in aso called peace process
which sees Israel voluntarily giving away its country for terrorist promises to stop murdering us.

A "diabolical" operation took place yesterday. A handful of Jews, who bought Jewish
property in Jerusalem ten years ago, moved into their homes! It was bad enough that Arabs
complained and "demonstrated" against this clear violation of "peace", but how can anyone
imagine that Jews, of any political persuasion, would literally fight with their brothers in an
attempt to force them out of their own homes in Jerusalem?

It seems to be a foregone conclusion that we are really making peace. All we need to do is to
give away Judea, Samaria, Gaza and East Jerusalem to Arafat, he will declare a state there and we
will have instant peace. All the Arabs will suddenly love us and desist from all acts of terror.

I know, war is terrible. We don't want any more wars. We must find a way to make peace.
But is that really what we are doing? Are we loved today in Egypt and Jordan? Do our PLO
"peace partners" extol the projected blessings resulting from living together with a Jewish State?

A more basic question would be, "Why did we not live in blissful peace before 1967 when
the Arabs had all of Judea, Samaria, Gaza and East Jerusalem?"

While, clearly, there are always fanatics who choose not to think about unpleasant facts and
just cast reason to the wind in the blind and totally unjustified hope that by appeasing our enemies
by surrendering to them, that we can have peace, it is absolutely baffling that our entire Knesset
can follow such a path of folly.

How is it possible that the Israeli government, led by alleged right-wing leadership, can
presume to conduct a "peace process" whereby we agree to surrender parts of our homeland to
our enemies in return for a promise by murderers to try and prevent other murderers from
murdering us? Have we all gone mad? The terrorists have all they can do to hold back their
scornful laughter as we actually sit down and discuss the terms of our self-destruction with them.

The only explanation I can think of is that the Satan is dancing because we are turning our
backs on Zionism. The Jewish People dreamed of Zion for over two thousand years. They were
persecuted, expelled, beaten, murdered and nearly annihilated for refusing to give up on
Jewish destiny, the Zionist imperative to come home and rebuild the ancient wasteland that was
once our homeland, and which was promised to us by G-d unto eternity.

How is it conceivable that the children of Jewish patriots, who gave their very lives to
preserve the dream of Zion, would live to actually see the dream begin to come true only to dash
it to the ground for a new and absurd dream of making peace with terror?

We have passed all limits of madness, not only to accept Arafat as a "peace" partner, thus
arming him to the teeth and providing him with an army on Jewish soil as well as bases from
which to launch his war to liberate the rest of "palestine" from us, but where we find huge
numbers of Jews protesting the concept of their fellow Jews living in Jerusalem!

Why should a Jew have to fight for the right to live in his own homeland, especially when it
is under Jewish control? Why do Jews join with our enemies to take our homeland from us?
Why is there not one truly Zionist party in our Knesset? And why do I, after my government
signed peace agreements and built new roads around our peaceful terrorist neighbors, still have to
fear being stoned, fire-bombed, or worse every time I drive to Jerusalem from Hebron and back
again? It seems that with peace we must accept terrorism as the price we must pay. Perhaps if
we had war the price would be lower and the end result would be far closer to real peace than
anything we have thus far achieved at the negotiation table.

The fact is that there really is no choice here. From the moment the Jewish State was
declared in 1948, we have been in an unending state of war with the Arab nations.
Notwithstanding the treaties with Egypt, Jordan and the PLO, this status has not changed. Peace
treaties are merely a more sophisticated method in the effort to eliminate the Jewish dream of
Zion. And they are working better than the combination of all the wars ever did. When the Arab
nations openly attacked us they united us, and Jews of all ideologies, fought together as one
people. It was this Jewish unity, resulting from the common effort at self-preservation, which
caused the Divine Presence to intervene and fight for us enabling us to prevail against
overwhelming odds. Clearly the Israeli War for Independence, in 1948, and the Six Day War of
1967, were incredible miracles.

Today, with the new weapon called the "peace process" our enemies have divided us. They
have fomented strife which sees Jews fighting with their own brothers and siding with our enemies
because they would prefer to believe a lie than to face reality. When Jews fight among themselves
we drive the Divine Presence away. This invites strife and finds the Satan dancing everywhere.

Look inward. Look at your friends and family. Pay attention to the needless squabbles
which easily ignite into angry altercations. When you find yourself getting angry and losing
control, stop for a minute and think about why you are angry. Try to reconcile your differences
and calm tempers. Everyone must try to curb this evil inclination which is overcoming all of us in
these terrible dark days preceding redemption. Our rabbis tell us that the night is darkest right
before dawn. Clearly the sunrise cannot be far off. There is no power on earth that can stop the
Divine Process of Zionism. Now is the time to cling to our faith and stand with our G-d, even as
all those around us seek to abandon Him. For it is not the majority that will prevail. . . it is the
Truth that will prevail.
