Will the Lamb Sleep with the Wolf?

                      by Gary M. Cooperberg

Are we really on the threshold of real peace? Is there anyone who can honestly help
but hope that maybe this time a way can be found to at long last be free from war and
bloodshed?
We all have such hopes and aspirations. But we dare not let our sincere desire for
peace cause us to close our eyes to bitter truths. If there are things which discourage our
hopes, these things won't just disappear because we choose to ignore them. Let us openly and
honestly examine what changes took place which would enable us to achieve the peace for
which we all yearn.
Yassir Arafat, as far as I can discern, has not changed his position. While we have
always seen him as a murderer of Jews who sought to destroy the Jewish State, he has always
claimed to be a freedom fighter. He would tell those who would listen that he had no quarrel
with Jews. He only considered the "zionists" to be his enemy. And what did that mean? Only
Jews who saw Israel as the Jewish homeland were his enemy. All other Jews he could live
with in peace. When he would send out his fighters to murder Jewish school children, his
purpose was to cause the "zionists" to give up hope in continuing to maintain sovereignty over
"palestine".
Has any of this philosophy actually changed with the infamous handshake on the White
House lawn? Has Arafat apologized for murdering Jewish citizens of the Jewish State? Has
he agreed that Jews have a right to sovereignty on Arab soil? Hardly.
So what actually happened? What happened was that the Arab war against "zionism"
took a radical turn. Like Sadat before him, Arafat seems to have found a way to make a
tremendous advance against the enemy without having to fire a single bullet. Not only that, he
has found a way to get his enemy to arm and finance his efforts! The terrorist chief is beside himself. He is baffled, amazed, thrilled and incredulous at this
unimaginable stroke of luck.
Of course he is willing to play the game. What does he have to lose? The fact is that he
was already a loser when, of all people, Shimon Peres and Yitzchak Rabin came to his rescue.
No matter how you choose to look at it, the Israeli Prime Minister not only saved Arafat's
skin and turned the butcher into a hero, crowning him king of an imaginary people, he actually
justified every murderous act of terror committed by Arabs against Jews over the last twenty six
years. With the magic stroke of a mislabeled "peace" process, Rabin has, in effect, declared that
Arafat was right. Israel unjustifiably occupies Arab "palestine" and murdering Jewish children is
an acceptable method of liberating it from us.
Not quite prepared to leave the entire country just yet, but not knowing how to swallow
the foot he put into his mouth, the Prime Minister came up with a temporary solution to an
impossible dilemma. He labeled it the "Jericho, Gaza first" plan. While, like Begin before him, he
never really meant to give away anything, just to permit Arabs living in these sections of Israel to
govern themselves, the implication is disastrous for the Jewish State. It not only implies the
eventual establishment of a "palestinian" state, it paves the way for the destruction of the entire
Jewish state. After all, Rabin has already agreed, as did Begin before him, that there is a
legitimate "palestinian" people. If so, where is their homeland? In "palestine" of course. And
what comprises "palestine"? If you ask Arafat, I am sure he will tell you that, at the very least, it
includes all of what is now Israel and Jordan.
Now, once we have begun the process which we call "negotiations", we have, in effect,
acknowledged that we are a bandit state with no rights to the land we "occupy". It is, therefore,
quite logical for the "legitimate" "palestinian" people to argue that all of "palestine" should be
given to them. They are quite willing to sit and "negotiate" little by little, until they get what they
claim belongs to them. Why should they give away what is rightfully theirs?
So while Peres and Rabin claim to have tamed the beast and to usher in a new era of
peaceful coexistence; what has really happened is that they have begun to feed the beast whose
appetite grows with every bite. It is only a matter of time when even Peres will have to admit that
there is nothing left to feed the monster without completely destroying Israel. How much harder
will it be to fight our enemies at that point?
No, there really is no peace process. It is one more in a long procession of lies over the
years since the establishment of the reborn Jewish State. While our grandfathers lied in order to
put off their problems and leave them for their grandchildren to solve, the generation of the
grandchildren has arrived on the scene. The piper needs to be paid.
The Jewish State was created for a Divine purpose. It was always meant to be the eternal
homeland of the Jewish People. This is not a democratic process, nor a natural one. No power
on Earth, either within or without the Land of Israel, can alter that Divine process. All who try to
interfere, be it Gentile or Jew, will be punished for his efforts. But the process will go on.
There is no possibility of any other nation sharing sovereignty with us or taking it from
us... not even should we agree.
The only way to bring genuine peace is for our leaders to declare exclusive Jewish
sovereignty to all of the Land of Israel. They must boldly announce retroactive removal of
citizenship from all non Jews. All Jewish lands under our control must be incorporated into the
state. And all non-Jews living in the Jewish state who contest our rights to take such steps must
be immediately expelled.
If such steps are not taken, and if our leaders continue along the path of suicide upon
which they have already embarked, then we will see a bigger and bloodier war than this country
has ever seen, along with untold tragedy, G-d forbid.
Let no honest person delude himself into thinking that the lamb has made peace with the
wolf.
