Sir,

On page fourteen of the October 20, 1993 issue of the Jerusalem Post, appeared an
article by Haim Shapiro, entitled, "Jews Could be barred from Machpela Cave..."
First of all, as one who prays inside that building and has been doing so every morning
at dawn for over twelve years now, I can assure you that NEVER AGAIN will Jews be locked
out of our second most holy site in the world.
Getting back to the article, I would just like to point out a few inconsistencies in
language. "Under Palestinian self-rule, Jews may no longer be allowed to pray in the Cave of
Machpela...".
The term "self-rule", in plain English, means "to rule one's self". As such, by simple
logical definition, "Palestinian self-rule" can, in no way, rule Jews.
The fact that such suggestions can even come forth, clearly demonstrates the self-deceit and subterfuge employed in these so called "peace" negotiations with our would-be
annihilators. Under the present self-hating Israeli administration of Hebron, I will have you
know that, the Cave of Machpela is now considered, by the Israeli government, as a Moslem
holy place and presently is administered by the Moslem Wakf. I, who have been praying daily
at the burial site of the Jewish Patriarchs and Matriarchs for well over a decade, am
considered, by my government, as a "visitor" to the site. The fact is, the place is already under
"Palestinian" self-rule.
I would imagine that, since under Israeli rule Jews are barred from praying at our
holiest of holies, the Temple Mount, under "Palestinian" self-rule, we might even be barred
from the kotel. Such is the logic of our twisted self-hating leaders.
The very minimum one would expect, as a result of making peace with former
enemies, is the natural right of all parties to live peacefully where ever they choose. Yet,
while, even under siege from rocks bombs and bullets, the Israeli government guaranteed the
rights of our enemies, that same government is preparing, even before negotiations, to bar
Jews from living and worshiping in parts of their own homeland! Does any one notice a bit of
inconsistency here?
Shimon and Levy tricked the citizens of Shechem into submitting to circumcision
before annihilating the town. Our own leaders are suggesting even more drastic surgery in
preparation for Arafat's "final peace plan".
