                        A Modest Proposal

In these desperate times where we find Jewish pragmatists willing to trade anything at
all for an illusive entity they claim to have within in their grasp, called "Peace", I have
considered the logical consequences of their proposals and, hereby issue a more simplified
version.
The State of Israel represents the homeland of the Jewish People. This fact has been,
is, and will always be, a thorn in the side of the nations of the world. As Rabin and those
before him have indicated a willingness to accept the principle of Land for Peace, and we all
know that this is just the beginning of a process which has no end, why prolong our agony?
The stated assumption is that we need to give away the Golan Heights to Syria for "peace".
We have no choice. If we really want peace, we must give our enemies what they demand.
Let us examine what we are doing a little more honestly and then, perhaps we can
achieve the kind of peace we are heading for much more quickly and with much less loss of
life:
The fact is that our Arab enemies do outnumber us. They cannot tolerate a Jewish
sovereign entity on what they consider holy Moslem soil. There will be a war, eventually,
which will have a heavy toll in lives on both sides, Arab and Jew. Because of our military
superiority, we will win the war.
We Jews, unlike our enemies, prefer peace to war. We must take every step possible
to save all lives, not just our own. Seeing the inevitability of war in the future, and knowing
that, since we have a better army which will kill more Arabs than they can kill Jews, we have
only one choice to make in the interest of humanity. We must all commit suicide.
The IDF must immediately set up a carefully organized program whereby every Jewish
man woman and child will report to local rifle ranges to be shot to death by firing squads.
After the civilians are all shot, the officers will shoot their men. After all the soldiers are
murdered, the higher ranking officers will shoot the lower ranking officers and then, the
Defense Minister will shoot himself.
Since the war to come will eventually take most of these lives anyway, it will be none
the worse. However, by so doing we will be saving countless more Arab lives which would
have been lost in a needless war. The world will then know and fully appreciate how much the
Jewish People genuinely cherish real peace.
