What do you say to a Jew Hater?
Take my Homeland. . . Please
                       December 15, 1997

Louis Farakhan has arrived in Israel and stirred up much controversy. Danny Nave, Director
of the Prime Minister's office, expressed his opinion that the controversial black Jew hater should be
expelled from the country. David Bar Ilan, however, felt that, as an American citizen, Farakhan
should be permitted to visit as long as he doesn't break any laws.

It is true that this eloquent black spokesman clearly has shown himself to be a virulent Jew
hater, but that is no reason not to extend to him the red carpet treatment in Israel. I can think of no
good reason why our Prime Minister and our President should not meet with the man and welcome
him to Israel. We are a democratic country which treats all people with dignity and respect. If our
President and our Prime Minister can host the veritable symbol of Arab terror, a man who has directed
the murder of innocent Jewish men women and children, and recognize his right to live and rule inside
the Jewish State, why on Earth should they snub a man who has only come for a visit just because he
made a few nasty statements about how he feels about Jews?

Were Adolph Hitler alive today I have little doubt that he too would be consulted by Jewish
leaders as to how Israel can make peace by aiding our enemies to destroy ourselves. It was pathetic to
watch the half-hearted demonstration in Jerusalem by good Jews who clearly do not know what to do.
The Jerusalem Post reported that, after canvassing the demonstrators, it could not be determined just
what the demonstration was trying to accomplish. Were they supporting the Prime Minister or
protesting his policies? Clearly the domonstrators themselves were uncertain.

I understand the quandry, but I have no qualms about expressing my anger. Netanyahu is not
Rabin nor is he Peres. But it turns out that he is not even the Netanyahu whom the voters elected. If
we had voted for a man who promised to lower taxes, and then, after he got elected he ended up raising
taxes, obviously the man is a fraud who should not be allowed to continue a job he got under false
pretenses. Now, it may well be that Netanyahu felt that he could not simply walk away from the Oslo
agreement upon his election. But since then he has had countless opportunities to use PLO violations
of that agreement to declare it null and void. That he has failed to do so consistantly and has even
taken steps to further enmesh us in this horror, should have cost him the support of those who elected
him.

I fail to understand all the talk of making any further withdrawals from Jewish land contingent
upon PLO compliance with former agreements. That is lunacy. If they failed to comply with former
agreements than those former agreements should be immediately nullified. Instead our "right wing"
government is arguing among itself as to how much more Jewish land we should serve up to Arafat
before "permenent status" talks even begin. I am not surprised or angry to hear that Clinton is
pressuring us to destroy ourselves. What angers me is that my own government is considering
submitting to that pressure.

What do you say to a Jew-hater? You don't say anything. You don't meet with him. You
don't negotiate with him. And you certainly don't give him your homeland. What you do is throw
him out of your homeland before he throws you out. Why is that so complicated?
