A New World Order resulting from the Gulf War

The State of Israel, whose daily existence is threatened by the likes of Saddam
Hussein, has had its security severely endangered as a result of the adventure by the
multinational forces in the Gulf. President George Bush, has very carefully and skillfully
orchestrated an unlikely world alliance in a very dangerous war whose main purpose is to
protect the oil interests of the United States and her allies. The rhetoric about standing up to
aggression is indeed noble, but other acts of aggression against innocent nations which did not
threaten the economic interests of the United States in the past drew little more than a yawn
from that country.
Saddam had warned that any attack against Iraq would result in his burning up half
of Israel. The allied attack then, no matter how well intentioned, clearly endangered the lives
of Israeli citizens. As it is, Patriots notwithstanding, conventional bombs from Iraq continue
to destroy property and endanger lives in Tel Aviv.
Israel, who is being so lavished with praise for her "restraint" in gracefully accepting
bombs on her civilian population, is being set up for a swift reversal in attitude. As has always
been the case, when Jews are murdered or "restrained" the world loves us. But the minute we
stand up to defend ourselves
the praise is replaced by curses.
It is interesting to note that no one is paying any attention to Shamir or Arens, both
of whom have adamantly denied having a policy of restraint and have sworn retaliation, albeit
on Israel's terms.
We, in Israel, are no longer surprised at the dual standard the world has set for us.
We fully understand what is in store for us. As the ground war in Iraq begins, and the realities
of a bloody war become evident, we will, once again, become the scapegoat, the easy way out,
for the nations of the world. Americans will forget the real reason for their country's
involvement in an unwanted war and eagerly accept the allegation, which already has appeared
in some quarters, that it was Israel and American Jews who caused it.
As we hear of so called "Palestinians" mounting rooftops and cheering Saddam
Hussein to burn Tel Aviv, we also hear armchair commentators in America and England
discussing the obvious need for Israel to give these bloodthirsty enemies of the Jewish State
pieces of Jewish soil upon which to set up yet another enemy state. Most people may not as yet realize it, but this is not just another war. You may
think that the falling of the Iron Curtain and the ingathering of the exiled Jews of the Soviet
Union to their homeland in Israel is a normal event. It may also appear natural that the most
powerful nations of the world are gathering to do battle in the backyard of Israel. These
events are extremely unlikely, yet they have happened and, what is more, they were predicted
thousands of years ago in the Bible of the Jews. The purpose of these events is the same as
the purpose of the ten plagues in Egypt, to make known the existence of the G-d of Israel.
Mr. Bush is right. When this war is over, there will be a new world order. But it will not be
the kind he has in mind, rather it will be the rule of the G-d of Israel and it will be to Jerusalem
that the world leaders will pay homage.
