                    The Voice of "Moderation"

The term "moderate", implies reasonable, sensible, willing to negotiate and be fair.
This term has no place in the Arab world which is ruled by fanaticism at the center of which is
their universal desire to rid the Middle East of an Israel of any size. The present crisis in the
Gulf has clearly revealed this unanimity of purpose which many outsiders failed to see in the
past.
King Hussein, of Jordan, who happens to have an excellent command of the English
language, and is an eloquent speaker, has over the years, charmed those looking to find a
peaceful and just settlement of the "Palestinian" question. He has been consistently termed as
a "moderate" Arab leader. The fact is, it was Hussein who, unprovokedly, joined in the War
to annihilate Israel in 1967 and thereby lost the so called West Bank, the return of which is
claimed to be the key to bring real peace to the region.
Despite the fact that the good king put on a great show of trying to avert the
present Gulf War by his personal intervention before hostilities broke out, once the war got
started his true colors came through as he unabashedly accused the United States of atrocities.
When pressed by foreign reporters to publicly condemn the scud missile attacks upon Israel's
civilian population, the king would not, could not, do so. If this is the epitome of Arab
moderation, then let the world know that there is no such concept.
The administrative detention of Sari Nuseiba by the Israeli Army has brought a
flood of criticism by the world media charging that the "voice of moderation" has been
silenced. This despite the fact that Israel is under attack and Nuseiba is accused of aiding the
enemy. Any normal country would have executed him for treason. Sari Nuseiba happens to
be one of the most intellectual and best educated representatives of the PLO who identifies
with Saddam Hussein, and has served as an operational commander of the "intifada". This
man has personally directed acts of terror against Jewish civilians, as well as acts of reprisal
which have resulted in the death of over 350 "Palestinians" in the last three years. The goal of
Nuseiba and all those espousing the cause of "Palestine", is the dismantling of the Jewish
State. It matters little whether that goal is sought via terror or "negotiations", the goal is the
demise of Israel.
The clever ruse of a two-state solution is an affront to any honest observer of the
history of the region. When such a solution was accepted by Israel in 1948 the Arabs
launched a war to annihilate the new born state. Now, years after that heinous effort failed,
they have the chutzpa to blame us for not giving them a state?! If Judea, Samaria and Gaza
are the legitimate homeland of the "Palestinians", as claimed by Egypt and Jordan, among
others, why is it that those countries refrained from setting up such a state when they
controlled those territories? If Arabs refused to set up such a state for their brothers when
they controlled these areas, how is it that any normal thinker can assume that Israel would do
so, especially when the lands in question are indisputable Jewish property, and the petitioners
are her blood enemies, bent on her destruction?
Before the smug seekers of "peace" (at our expense), return to their practice of
Israel bashing, let them open their eyes for once and see that the only voice of moderation that
exists in the Middle East is that of the Jewish State.
