PZL SWIDNIK SW-4

Helicóptero convencional de 4/5 plazas de líneas aerodinámicas con un fuselaje monocoque totalmente metálico. El rotor consta de tres palas y esta potenciado por un motor Rolls Royce 250-C20R de 450 shp. Un motor alternativo es el P&W PW200/9 de 615 shp.

La primera producción está reservada para la fuerza aérea de Polonia, la cual ha ordenado 47 unidades.

The SW-4 weathered the collapse of the Soviet Union, the end of the Cold War, the fall of the Berlin Wall capped by its certification under Polish Regulations in November 2002. Reciprocal U.S approval is expected to be a little more than a formality once a U.S sale is recorded.

A single turbine helo (with customer´s choice of a 450 shp Rolls Royce 250-C20R or 615 shp Pratt & Whittney Canada PW200/9) seatin five (includind pilot) or an internal payload of 3527 pounds and selling of U$S 700.000, depending on options. All this perfomance is crammed into a compact airframe resembling a combination of the front end of an Eurocopter Astar and the empennage of a Schweizer 330.

The first production batch of SW-4s is reserved for the Polish air force, which has ordered a training fleet of 47 to be delivered by 2010.
