En 1992, Mitsubishi comenzó el desarrollo del helicóptero experimental RP-1. El primer vuelo fue realizado en septiembre de 1994 y las pruebas fueron finalizadas en marzo de 1995. Desde el comienzo la compañía decidió el desarrollo del MH2000, el cual realizó su primer vuelo el 29 de julio de 1996. Un segundo prototipo lo emuló un poco mas tarde. Recibió el certificado de la Oficina Civil Japonesa en junio de 1997. |

In 1992, Mitsubishi started development of the RP-1 experimental helicopter.First flight was in September 1994, and testing was completed in March 1995. From this beginning, the company decided on the development of the MH2000, which made its maiden flight on 29 July 1996. A second prototype followed later in the year. Basic certification by the Japanese Civil Aviation Bureau was achieved in June 1997. |
