AGUSTA A-119 KOALA

El A119 Koala fue demostrado en el Show Aéreo de París en junio de 1995 después de su primer vuelo a comienzos del mismo año. Dos prototipos se construyeron primeramente volando ambos con la turbina Turbomeca Ariel de 800 SHP, pero fue reemplaza posteriormente por la definitiva PT6B mas tarde. El helicóptero esta basado sobre el fuselaje del A109 pero poniendo el énfasis en el bajo costo. El tren de aterrizaje se reemplazó por esquíes en lugar de ruedas.

El Koala en un helicóptero liviano de un solo motor, 8 plazas para transporte de pasajeros y trabajo aéreo. La ancha cabina, la mas larga en su clase, sin obstrucciones internas, habilita la mas alta flexibilidad en las operaciones. Es el único monomotor capaz de llevar 1 o 2 camillas sin interferencia con el cockpit.

Producido con tecnología sofisticada, típica de helicópteros de alta gama, el Koala se caracteriza por su alta productividad y seguridad. Sus principales características son: robusto fuselaje construido en aluminio y de bajo mantenimiento. Bajas vibraciones y bajo mantenimiento de sus cuatro palas de su rotor totalmente articulado con materiales compuestos. Amplias ventanillas y parabrisas. Puertas laterales deslizantes y amplio compartimiento de carga separado de la cabina principal.

The A119 Koala was unveiled at the Paris Air Show in June 1995 after its first flight earlier in the year. A second machine followed later in 1995. Both first flew with 800 shp Turboméca Arriel engines, but these were replaced by the definitive PT6B later.Certification was anticipated in 1997, and production is expected to reach 20 per year. The helicopter is based on the airframe of the twin-engined Agusta 109 family, but emphasis is put on low costs. Wheel gear is replaced by skids.

The A119 Koala is a light, single engine helicopter, 8 seats, for passenger transport and aerial work. The wide cabin, the largest of its class, with no internal obstruction allows the highest operational flexibility.
