The Focke Achgelis Fa 283 was a futuristic design project for a jet turbine powered autogyro transport. The turbojet drew its combustion air from the lateral side slots in the streamlined fuselage. The turbojet engine did not drive the rotors but was expected to provide forward momentum to engage the autogyro for vertical flight and to provide high speed forward propulsion in level flight. Little is know about this proposed design or it's performance.
