EUROCOPTER AS-532 A2/U2 COUGAR

The AS 532 U2 offers very high survivability owing to the redundancy of the main systems (2 autopilot computers), fail-safe design, reinforced structure, high power (2 Turboméca MAKILA 1 A2 turbine engines). The AS 532 U2 is versatile par excellence. Its large cabin, its extended range and its integrated navigation systems make it an SAR and combat/SAR helicopter perfectly suited for today's (day/night mission) requirements. It can also be used for transporting commandos (29 men), and for medevac (12 stretchers), logistic transport (4.5 t sling load capability) and humanitarian missions. Finally, its large cabin makes it the best VIP helicopter available on the market.

The AS 532 A2 is the armed version of the AS 532 U2 COUGAR. It can be equipped with two pod-mounted 20 mm guns, or two 68 mm rocket launchers, or a 20 mm side-firing cannon.
