BOEING AH-64D APACHE

El Apache es un helicóptero biturbina de ataque, desarrollado y construido por McDonnell Douglas (ahora Boeing) en servicio con el US Army y exportado a Egipto, Grecia, Israel, Holanda, Arabia y Reino Unido. El US Army adoptó por primera vez al Apache en 1984. Todos los AH- 64A Apaches están siendo mejorados al AH-64D con turbinas mas potentes y se espera finalizar el trabajo para el 2010. El AH-64D Longbow está adaptado con el sistema control de radar milimétrico de fuego Longbowy misiles Longbow Hellfire. El US Army tiene mas de 800 Apaches en servicio y mas de 1000 han sido exportados. El Apache fue el primero en ser usado en combate en diciembre de 1989 en la acción militar en Panamá. Fue usado en la Guerra del Golfo en el cual 15 batallones estaban equipados con 288 helicópteros. El Longbow Apache, AH-64D, está equipado con el radar milimétrico de fuego de Westinghouse y el misil AGM-114D Longbow Hellfire de Lockheed Martin y Boeing. El Longbow puede llevar una combinación de armamento que puede ser elegida de acuerdo a la misión. En el rol de soporte cercano lleva 16 misiles aire-superficie y cuatro lanzadores de misiles aire-aire.

The US Army took first delivery of the Apache in 1984. All AH- 64A Apaches are to be upgraded to AH-64D with a more powerful engine by the year 2010. The AH-64D Longbow is fitted with the Longbow millimetric fire control radar and the Longbow Hellfire missile. The US Army have more than 800 Apaches in service and more than 1000 have been exported. The Apache was first used in combat in December 1989 in the US military action in Panama. The Apache was used again in the Gulf War in which 15 battalions were equipped with 288 Apache helicopters.
