Comments: If only I can express how I feel, brother Omar. I have known you for 13 years now, 3 of which we were fellow cadets and 6 we were room mates in the RJAF. You were kind, cheerfull and honest and most of all, you loved your people and God. That is why my brother, God has taken you away from us and placed you in heaven very early in your life. He was satisfied by your excellence and good faith. In memory you shall always be, and at heart you shall always stay. May you rest in peace and God bless your soul. For those of you who do read this message, please visit the above link too. Thank you. Ahmed

Comments: I flew at the BENELUX AEROBATIC CHAMPIONSHIP since 1994 where I won the Belgian title; It's also that year that I saw BILAL for the first time .He was indeed a very good enthousiastic and friendly show pilot.Since the tragedy we all BENELUX pilots miss him and think about him ;especially during our national competitions where we feel since 1997 an emptyness.

Comments: Omar Bilal gave a splendid performance before his last flight ended prematurely. The Belgian media used this incident to dish up images of crashes from around the world in the last ten years convincing public opinion of how"dangerous" airshows really are. The Belgian political world saw it as a chance towin some easy votes by imposing stricter, in my eyes useless, rules on airshows and therebye effectively banni-shing most of them. I was more than a little mad at this. I really like to see pages like these. congratulations.

Comments: This is from a true friend who had known the champion till the last moment. He was a cheerfull character smartgood looking strong with a lovely sence of humor. Wherever we went everybody was asking about him andwishing to see him. He was loved by people all over the world. His fame never changed his humble character. Best of all he was a true muslem. The very last thing I did with him before hewent to his aeroplane was the prayers then shortely after, he left for the skyies and stayed there. God bless hissoul. A true friend that I loved from the heart.OMMAR SIMPLEY YOU WERE THE BEST!

Comments: Although it took me a while to sign the guest book but I was checking this site on a regular basis. Omar was ahero and a very dear freind of mine. I was a very close fan and friend to Omar, he is a believer in almighty God andmay god bless his sole. Moreover what really got my attention is this fellow who signed the book and had his own uneducated way with words which would only reflect his premitivness and fixation. I would like him to e-mail me socan solve this little ambiguity. Omar passed away and the people who passed a way with him are all in the handsof almighty God. In addition, I would like to thank you Mohammed for such an outstanding page.

Comments: Very touching story. I didn't know of Omar before and happened upon this site by accident. He died in the same year as US world champion aerobatics pilot Leo Loudenslager. I spent 5 days at an airshow in the US with some of the world's top pilots for a chapter in my book - it was a wonderful experience.Tess Crebbin (author: "Two dogs and a Journalist" - what happened when the world's top aerobatics pilots went to the dogs

Comments: After doing my military service in the Belgian Air Force my hart remained there.Due to circumstances I only found the time to go back and enjoy the the performances of my weapon only after years.I became a regular visitor of the Belgian displays, and I've always looked forward to see the Falcons. On several occasions I've enjoined the beautifull things cpt Bilan and his team did during the displays in Belgium. The same holds true for my eldest daughter who accompanys me ecah years on the Belgian shows. I only found this webside today, but I was already looking since the accident to,find an occasion to express my sorrow by the passing away of cpt Bilal. He will be missing forever on the displays.Hans BockstaeleAccountant

Comments: 6 years ago I went with my parents to Ostenda (Oostende in Dutch). We first sat at the tarmac and I fell that there was something strange... So I asked my parents to sit somewhere else and we did that. A little bit later I was so glad to see those beautiful airplanes. I first would like to thank mr. Bilal for his great show and the joy he gave us. But when we saw there was a problem, we fell sorry for him and his family. And we still do... Each year we still light a candle to remind him and his show. I hope mr. Bilal's family isn't too angry at Belgium and Belgian people, we really adored him, but this was to beautiful to be true... That was what I wanted to say...Yoke

Comments: Omar my dearly cousin allah yerhamak and hope to meet u in the jannah enshallah .. although Im writing now after 7 years from that day.. But I feel now the same painful feeling that I felt the moment I knew about the crash actually I admit that I cannot hold my tears whenever I saw your pictures or visit your family home. Whenever any one talks about you. Its god will and we believe in his will and accept it. But our tears always will be for missing u our lovely Omar and miss all our memories that we had a lot of years I still remember your last visit u and your lovely wife before 3 month of your crash and still remember u inviting us to visit u after u return from your journey. You didn't come back and we never did! But enshallah u went to a better place than ours and enshallh we will meet u all there. I feel I have many to say and sure I will be back. Sometimes u feel that u are some way close when u remember and talk about whom u lost and I feel that now. May god bless ur soul our dear cousin. Im so proud that I have a great lovely truly Muslim relative like u Omar. You will be always in our hearts and we miss u toooooooo much.
