Guarulhos International it's located on São Paulo Metropolitan Area, 25 km from downtown, on the Guarulhos Distric.The airport has two parallel runways numbered 09L/R and 27L/R, that are also used by the Brazilian Air Force Base(São Paulo Air Base), located to the south from the Passengers Terminals. The Passengers Terminals have a "double-T" shape, with three floors:

Basement Floor - Arrivals

1st Floor - Departures

2nd Floor - Mezannine

Actually there are two Terminals, Terminal 1 and 2, linked by the Airport Authority Building.Each Terminal is internally divided in Wings, Wing A and B on Terminal 1 and Wing C and D on Terminal 2. On adition, two flat buildings are located at each extremity from the Terminals and are used for Remote Parking.

To the east from Terminal 1 it's also located the Cargo Area, whith the VARIG, VASP, Transbrasil and The Post buildings.

The Control Tower it's located to the West from Terminal 2, near the Biz-jets ramp.

As originally the airport whas an Air Force Base, the Base's complex it's still active, with one transport squadron based there, operating Emb-110 Bandeirante(C-97).But other Air Force types are regular visitors and VIP/Government flights use to park there as well.

The use of scanners is not prohibited, but as a "Spotter culture" does not exist in Brazil, keeping them under cover will avoid more problems and time expending explanations to the Airport Authorities.The frequencies used at GRU are:

ATIS - 127.65
Tower - 132.75 and 118.40
Ground Control - 121.70 and 126.90
Clearence - 121.00
São Paulo APP - 129.75(GRU Final APP), 134.80 and 135.75(Sao Paulo TMA)
