The winter sports resort of Alto Campoo, situated 100 km. from Santander, lies in the lap of three mountains: Cuchillon, El Chivo and Tres Mares, all at over 2000 m. above sea level. Alto Campoo provides three service areas, the most important of which, Brañavieja, comprises hotel and apartment developments. Its facilities include various chair and drag lifts, 10 pistes, a tennis school, heliport, artificial snow cannons, various rescue posts etc.
