Be sure to join us and LU Radio in the contest of the year for Thunder Bay artists! If you have an artist that you feel deserves some attention, and they are from Thunder Bay...NOMINATE THEM! Simply e-mail the name of the band and a suggested song for airplay on LU Radio to [email protected] or call 766-7207 Wednesday nights from 9-10pm.
We will be accepting band/artist nominations until Sunday Nov. 5, 2006. Starting Monday, Nov. 6 on The Canadian Countdown, and the Canadian Countdown:Remix...we will be featuring artists that have been nominated for the contest. At this point we will be accepting votes from our listeners as to who they feel should be the new Canadain Countdown Idol. Each week we will be placing the nominate artists on the countdown as per votes, until Wednesday November 29, 2006. At this point we will stop accepting votes and select winners . We will notify the winners that week and have them on LU Radio LIVE on Wednesday December 6, 2006 from 9-10 PM! The prize packages are as follows:
There will be two ways for individuals to win:
1) The Nominator/Voter -
Second place prize for the nominator/voter category is a selection of music CD's from artists from Thunder Bay, and select artists featured on The Canadian Countdown (ex. Metric, Hot Hot Heat, Death From Above, Frayed, etc)
2) The Canadian Countdown Idol arists
There has to be something in this contest for the winning artists...and by golly there is! This contest not only brings their music to the font lines during the contest, but will guarantee more air play on LU Radio. The winners will win a SPECIAL one hour PRIME TIME slot on Wednesday Dec. 6, 2006 decicated to ONLY them! The artists will be welcome to join us at the station and be on air DJ's with us. This is a WIN/WIN situaton for everyone...so be sure to get into it and enter AS MANY TIMES AS POSSIBLE!
Residence Restrictions
The contest is open to musical artists ONLY from Thunder Bay and surrounding area. The regional restrictions are as follows:
Southeastern Limit - Marathon, ON
Northeastern Limit - Geraldton, ON
Northwestern Limit - Atikokan, ON
Southwestern Limit - US/Canada Border
The particiation of voters/nominators has no geographical limitation. Anyone from anywhere is permitted to submit a nomination/vote for artists.
However, ONLY residents of the city of Thunder Bay will be selected to win prize packages...
The "Dumbass Quote of the Week" can be heard on Monday's at 7:50 and 8:40 a.m. every week. We are always looking for quotes, if you have one be sure to e-mail it to us. If your quote is aired, you could win a CD from one of our Countdown artists.
