Ocean Park was a beautiful, peaceful city.  Except for the occasional rampaging supervillain, that is.  For some reason, the city seemed to attract super-powered beings like a magnet.   There were several heroes who routinely protected the city from any threat, but none possessed the raw power of its true champion: MegaGirl.

Lorna Lee was a mere 24 years old, a tall and slender blonde with a gorgeous face and a sprightly personality.  But with the speed of a single thought she could transform her body into the inconceivably strong and unbelievably muscular form of MegaGirl.

MegaGirl lived a busy life.  So far this week she had defended the Hightown Bridge from Snake Charmer and her giant serpent army, and today had saved Financial Square from Sidesplitter and the Killing Jokes.  It was always something.  Another day, another crazed supervillain.  It was a tough job, but somebody had to do it.  And MegaGirl was the toughest, strongest hero there was.

In her secret civilian identity of Lorna Lee, she worked as director of research at Allied Technologies (it was a demanding job, but hey, heroes gotta pay rent too).  In her time there she had perfected a transmutable material, which allowed someone to instantly convert clothing into any other predetermined style, size and color.  This “smart fabric” had proven quite valuable to her in particular—no more shredding out of her clothes when she transformed into MegaGirl.  The fabric had also become very popular with the superhero community, who apparently also ran into the same problems.  And it made millions for the company.

She had been at Allied since right after college.  She was a bright girl who had hoped to help make the world a better place through various technologies.  Her boss at the time, Sidney Milestone, had been a genius in the field of energy and data transfer, and he took her on immediately when he saw her potential.

Allied was also the place where Lorna had acquired the fantastic powers of her alter ego.   As she stood in the kitchen preparing the evening’s dinner, her mind drifted into a flashback sequence…

Lorna Lee had been at Allied for only two months.  She was a bright-eyed research assistant with big plans.  Working late one evening on a project, she heard a clamor in the lab beside hers, and stepped down the hall to investigate.  Quietly peering through the small window in the door of the lab, she was shocked by what she saw!   In that unforgettable moment of horror she discovered that her boss, Sidney Milestone, was in reality the arch villain known only to the world as… Sid Insidious!   And in his lab, he had somehow managed to trap both Captain Wondrous and Gallant Man!   They had been completely restrained, helpless and attached to some strange device!

Judging by the apparatus in the lab-- along with the fact that Sid was in the process of explaining his evil plan (as villains are known to do)-- she determined that he intended to siphon off the strength of the two heroes and “beam” it into himself.  He would effectively steal their powers! Captain Wondrous and Gallant Man were the two strongest heroes in the city, a city which they had saved from danger on countless occasions.  Their combined power would be virtually limitless!  In the hands of a fiend such as Sid Insidious, it would spell certain doom for Ocean Park!

Lorna couldn't let that happen.  She had to alert someone!  But who?  Sid was readying his device and preparing to transfer the power to himself!  She was too late, there was nothing she could do!

And then, without warning, two heroes crashed through the window and swung into the lab.  It was Vim & Vigor!  These heroes were new to the city and not much was known about them at the time, but they apparently had some sort of superhuman reflexes and leaping abilities.  Together they bound into the room.

“Unhand those heroes!” shouted Vim.

“Cease and desist, foul villain!” commanded Vigor.

Sid snorted in contempt.  “You fools!  You’ll never stop me now!”  As the two heroes motioned to stop him, Sid punched the button on his infernal machine, beginning the energy transfer!  The beam fired! Somehow right in the nick of time, Vim managed to reach Sid, leaping and knocking him from the path of the beam, while Vigor simultaneously smashed the machine.  But the device had already fired, and without its intended target, the beam continued on—striking the silently observing Lorna Lee! The impact of the blast knocked her backwards into the stairwell, where she tumbled straight down like a stone.

Her mind flashed her life before her eyes, and she was certain that she would be killed.  Instead, however, she landed painlessly and harmlessly at the bottom!

Rising to her feet, she discovered that she herself had absorbed the power of the beam!  She gazed down at her new body, which had burst the seams of her clothes.  Her body had grown in proportion to the power it now wielded.  Her muscles were huge!

After admiring her new body for a moment, she heard voices approaching from the nearby corridor—the security team was coming to check on the disturbance.   How was she going to explain her new, muscular body? Then suddenly, with a mere thought, she somehow shrunk and returned to her former self, just as the armed guards burst through the door.

“It’s the new researcher, Lorna Lee!” proclaimed the first guard.

“Are you all right, ma’am?” asked another.

“Yes,” she replied, thinking quickly.  “I—I just took a nasty spill down the stairs.  But there’s a superhero battle going on up on level ten!  You boys better get up there in a hurry!”

“We’re on it!” the guards said and bound up the stairs, leaving Lorna standing and smiling at her new situation.  Oh, the things she could do now…

When all was said and done, Vim & Vigor were hailed for their efforts.  Sid Insidious was incarcerated.  Captain Wondrous and Gallant Man, now powerless, were forced to retire.   The transfer device had been demolished.   No one discovered what had happened to the beam.  And Lorna, now secretly possessing more power and strength than anyone in the city, did the noble thing: she adopted the name “MegaGirl” and has defended Ocean Park ever since.

Suddenly the phone rang, breaking Lorna from the trance of the flashback.  “Hello?” she answered.

“Hi, lover,” came the smooth male voice on the other end.  “I’ll be there in just a few minutes.”

“I’ll be ready,” she responded, and hung up.

Lorna smiled.  She’d been looking forward to this evening: a nice, quiet dinner with her boyfriend.  Lately they had both been so busy that this became a rare, anticipated event.

Her boyfriend, Duke McGrath, was the director of Ocean Park’s Damage Control department.   He was in charge of cleaning up the messes left in the wake of superhero battles.  Lorna had met him as MegaGirl after her battle with the Bastard Squad – they had left quite a mess on the East Side, and Duke showed up to make his assessment of the damage.  Lorna had instantly found herself attracted to his commanding presence and handsome, rugged good looks.   And there was also the fact that he, unlike anyone else she had encountered, had had the balls to ask MegaGirl out for a date.

They had now been together for nearly a year and a half.  She’d come to trust him so implicitly that she eventually shared her alternate identity with him.  He had accepted it very casually, almost as if he’d already figured it out.  She trusted in her heart that he would never reveal it to anyone.  He was the most honest, sincere man she had ever met.

Unfortunately, between his job and both of hers, getting together was becoming a constant struggle.  But thus far it hadn't placed too much strain on the relationship; if anything, it made it stronger, as they longed for the opportunities to be together.

Lorna was nearly finished preparing the meal when the doorbell buzzed.  Opening the door to her apartment, she was greeted with Duke’s strong embrace, followed by a deep and passionate kiss.

“How’s my heroine?” Duke whispered in her ear.

“She’s anxiously awaiting her handsome hero,” she said back, nuzzling his neck.

“Await no further, my lovely angel,” he said, scooping her up and carrying her into the apartment as she giggled with joy.

As she climbed down and returned to the kitchen, she said over her shoulder, “I hope you're hungry, Duke.”

“In more ways than one,” he replied, tossing his coat on the couch and watching her hips sway.  “What’s on the menu?”

“Oh, don't you worry, I’m sure you'll be completely satisfied by the end of the evening,” she teased, stroking her hand along her hip as she slinked into the kitchen.

“And hopefully well into the morning,” he smirked.

Picking up the remote, Duke flipped on the TV.  The face of a frantic news reporter filled the screen, and some sort of big robot could be seen stomping by in the background.  He turned up the volume.

“…robots, attacking and demolishing Landmark Commons.   The villainous Dr. Wretched appears to be commanding them from atop the giant lead robot.  Thus far, no heroes have appeared on scene to halt this terrible rampage…”

Duke groaned.  “Aw, crap.”

Lorna stepped up beside him.  “Looks like dinner’s going to have to wait.”

“Come on, Lorna, can't you let someone else handle it for once?” he pleaded.

“Who did you have in mind?”

“I dunno… what about Flapjack?” he offered.

“He’s out of action,” she answered.  Ms. Malicious put him in the hospital on Monday.”

“Okay… where’s Accordion Man?”

“He’s still a bit drained from his battle with the Sponge.”

The Part-Timer?”

“On vacation.”

Duke sighed.  He was running out of heroes.  Kingfish?  Danger-Eater?  The Fallen Arch?   Team Spirit?”

She shook her head.  “They're all away fighting the Zoidoids in Virginia.”

“Damn that Dr. Wretched.  I thought he was in jail.  What does that asshole want now?  Doesn't he know we had a date??”

“I don't know,” she told him.  “I think he just likes to ruin things.  After all, his name is Dr. Wretched…

“Okay,” he finally resigned.  “Go ahead.   But please, try to get back as soon as you can.  I really wanted to see you tonight…”

“And I, you,” she said, and kissed his neck.  “But I’ve got a responsibility.”

“I know,” he said, and watched her as she suddenly began her astounding transformation.

Over the course of several seconds, Lorna Lee had grown another twelve inches in height and had packed on nearly two hundred pounds of solid rippling muscle, and she now stood before him as MegaGirl.  Her body throbbed and teemed with power.

Duke thought she looked fantastic as Lorna, but the incredible, ultra-muscular physique of MegaGirl really turned him on.  The erection pressing against the front of his pants proved he wasn't afraid to show it.

“You keep that thing warm,” MegaGirl said, pointing at his crotch.  “I’ll be back before you know it.”

“Do me a favor?” he called to her as she stepped onto the balcony of her 20th floor apartment.  “Try not to make too much of a mess.  Remember, I have to clean that up.”

Blowing him a kiss, she launched herself off the balcony and disappeared into the night. Duke turned back to the television and lamented.  Oh well, he thought.  If I can't see my girlfriend in person, at least I can watch her on TV…

Seconds later, MegaGirl set down on Landmark Commons.  It appeared that no bystanders had been hurt so far, but the robots had toppled and devastated several sculptures, and were in the process of moving toward Lincoln Tower in the center of the gardens.

Dr. Wretched perched in his two-story high lead tank-robot, commanding his metal minions to do his vile bidding.
“Hold it right there, Dr. Wretched!” called MegaGirl.  It was, after all, customary for heroes to dramatically announce their entrance.

The large robot spun on its treads, and Dr. Wretched leered down from his cockpit.

“Ah, MegaGirl!  Now I shall make you pay for sending me to that repellent, uncivilized prison!  Get her, Number Two!”

MegaGirl stood her ground as the robot approached.  To her it looked like an oversized water heater with arms.

She casually watched as a door slid up on its chest, and the large barrel of a Gatling-type gun emerged from the opening.

The barrel began spinning, and a torrent of armor-piercing bullets spewed forth.

MegaGirl instinctively flexed her massive chest muscles.  The bullets proved no match for her impossibly hard pectorals, and deflected harmlessly away.  She rather enjoyed the warm sensation, actually. Within moments the gun clicked as it ran dry.

“I hope you can do better than that,” she said, grinning up at Dr. Wretched.

“Oh, I can, my dear,” he threatened. “Number One!”

MegaGirl was suddenly grabbed from behind by another robot.  It had somehow managed to sneak up on her, probably under cover of the loud gunfire of its automated sibling.  It wrapped its thick telescoping arms around her and constricted.

For a moment, MegaGirl was immobilized.  “I see you are not as tough as you claim,” Dr. Wretched gloated.

“Oh, please,” she responded.  With a mere thought, she began expanding every muscle in her upper body.  The metal of the robot’s arms began to groan and squeal from the pressure.  Internal hydraulics that could tow a sail barge struggled against the onslaught of swelling muscle, until finally the arms surrendered and disintegrated into scrap, sending metal flying in all directions.

The robot short circuited.  Its head popped off, and it toppled to the ground, belching smoke.  “Curses!” exclaimed Dr. Wretched.  “Number Two!  Number Three!   Finish her!”

MegaGirl grinned as the two robots converged menacingly, the panels on their chests opening.   From one extended a metal, vibrating spike, from the other came a whirling rotor of razor-sharp blades.

She stood confident and motionless until they reached her.  Then she grabbed each of them by their weapons and lifted them off the ground as if they were made of paper maché.

“Are these things supposed to scare me?” she taunted.  With a mighty flex, she slammed them together over her head, crushing them into useless piles of metal.

Dropping both devastated robots to the ground in a heap, she looked up at Dr. Wretched.  “I think you're going to need some new toys.”

“Okay, that does it!” he bellowed.  “I’ll take care of you myself!”  His giant tank robot turned and advanced on her, gaining speed as it came.

MegaGirl stood her ground once again, a pillar of power and poise.

“This tank is made of the strongest, densest metal known to man,” he shouted.  “You don't stand a chance against it, MegaGirl!”

MegaGirl simply smirked and flexed her massive body once again, thrusting her incredible pectorals before her.  The tank crashed headlong into her chest, and crumpled beneath her immovable musculature in a spectacular, cacophonous collision.

Dr. Wretched, dazed from the crash, dangled from his roost on top of the ruined robot.  “Looks like you should have worn your seatbelt,” MegaGirl observed.  Then, in an amazing display of balance and strength, she hefted the destroyed tank from the ground and tilted it, gently lowering Dr. Wretched to the ground.
Tossing the tank to the side like an empty milk carton, MegaGirl approached the half-conscious Dr. Wretched.

“All that heavy lifting, and I’ve barely broken a sweat,” she said as she stood over him, and flexed her gigantic arms.

She could hear bystanders, hiding behind objects on the Commons perimeter, gasp at the sight of her sheer might.

She had managed to wrap this up quickly.  With luck she would be home with Duke shortly, finding new and imaginative ways to make it up to him.  Grabbing the good Dr. by the collar, she hoisted him off the ground and held him up like a trophy.

“Next time you’ll know you're better off staying in prison,” she scolded as she flexed an enormous bicep.

“No one messes with this city when MegaGirl is on duty!”
