Demian Mondragón was born in Mexico City in November 1981. He has worked as costumes and scenary designing assistant in the Aldama teather with E. Quiroz for the play "Regina". In the year 2000 he participated in the XXI "Concurso de Composición Coreográfica Contemporánea" , INBA-UAM, as interpreter with the group "Cognición directa" of Lorena Osorio. He has taken performance art courses and performance criticism courses with Pancho López and Lorena Wolffer. In the year 2000, he got the "Itinerarte Joven" grant from the government of Mexico City, and in the year 2002, he got financial support from the Culture Minister of Mexico City in the programm "Artes por todas partes".
He
has participated with pictoric works in nine colective exhibits and one individual.
Recent exhibits: Universidad de Jalapa (Veracruz, Mexico) and Menache Gallery
(Mexico City, "Pink Zone").
He
has presented performances in several places of Mexico City in the last 2
years: Museo Universitario del Chopo, Epicentro, Pinosuárez subway
station and different public places. He exhibited his performance documentation
in Centro Médico subway station.
Actually, he studies Visual Arts in the Escuela Nacional de Pintura Escultura y Grabado "La Esmeralda" of the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes (INBA).
