Last year sometime I was contacted by the lovely Hilary T.A. Deline, who is an Elfwood Artist like me. She asked if I would be interested in participating in a project where several artists would produce an artwork all corresponding to a common theme. I sent her a very excited email of agreement^^, and asked what we were to draw. lol. She said she hadn't figured that part out yet, so we worked together and came up with the theme of the Zodiac- tying in the ruling planet/deity of our sign within the artwork.
I loved being part of the project, so much so that I was inspired to make up an Elfwood club where we could all participate in differently themed monthly projects. I named it Bifrost- which comes from Norse Mythology. Bifrost was the rainbow bridge connecting the land of the gods to the land of mortals. Bifrost has been a huge success, but I couldn't have done it without all of my gorgeous friends. (you know who you are!). If you're intersted in joining, please visit the website.
And now for the artwork: My sign, Aquarius, ruled by the planet Uranus. Aquarians are noted for being oddballs with a weird sense of humour. (me down to a T!) That's my concept sketch to the left, but then I started thinking it would be fun to do a twist on the traditional imagery of "The water carrier":D My moon sign is virgo, so that explains why this chick is such a hot babe. Like her hair? Aquarians are magically empowered by all colours of the rainbow (what a surprise, eh!? ;) so I thought multi-coloured locks would be fun. She wears the a tattoo of the Aquarius symbol on her arm, and the symbol of the ruling plaent Uranus as a bellybutton ring.
