The Sea

About the Sea
As much as we have explored undersea, we still know less of the dark, watery world  than we do about the universe.  Let me say that I think undersea exploration is very important to us as we get much of our food and other staples from the salt water, and the earth that we live on is about 3/5 ocean!
Creatures
God only knows what creatures dwell in the vast reaches of the ocean.  Many people are quick to jump to conclusion that just because they haven't seen it, it don't exist.  This is a very shallow way to approach any subject.  If we are to learn about the unknown, then the first step is to admit that there are things that may exist, that we have not seen.  Furthermore, there are perhaps creatures that exist, or have existed in the past that have become legends over the centuries, and thus become myths, at least in our understanding.  But what about the people who claimed to have seen theses mythical creatures?  Would we form a different opinion as to what exists if we could travel back in time?
Giant Squid
I will never forget the thrill I had in the theatre when the giant sea monster charged the old sailing ship on Walt Disney's rendition of Jules Verne's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea!  Later in the movie a real sea monster attacks the Nautilus submersible boat...a giant squid!
Well, in real life there has been a whale found once, with squid suction marks on it's body sixteen inches across!!!
Mermaids
The most romantic tales of the sea involve beautiful creatures that are half-woman, half-fish.  Naturally these are only legends started from sun-sick sailors who were actually looking at sea cows (Dugongs) right?  I do not believe for one minute that a human male could mistake a Dugong or a  Manatee for a beautiful woman!!!  GIVE ME A BREAK!!!  We're smarter than that.  I would come more near beleiving that they are just myths.    HOWEVER...there are records of people seeing merpeople all the way from 558 AD - 1811 (some later), who claim to be truthfull.  In some cases the mermaid or mermale does not appear lovely but sometimes hideous and crude.
Perhaps those were like the UFO stories of today.  A lot of people do not beleive in UFO's, because they have never seen one.  I personally, cannot identify every aircraft that I have seen!  Let me ask you this:  If earth is an inhabited planet, and for simplification of this hypothesis, let us conclude that Heaven may be on a planet, then to not beleive that there are other intelligible life forms out there elsewhere, leaves the whole vast, limitless universe to be empty!
