Acts 1:11 Jesus who ascended into Heaven is going to come back and rapture
His saints. After
this there will be seven years of tribulation on the earth. (Daniel
9:24-27). Then Christ and the
saints will return to earth and battle the devil and the armies of
earth at the battle of Armageddon
(Revelation 16:16). God’s army will be victorious and the devil
will be chained for 1000 years.
The devil will get one last stand after the millennium and then will
be cast into hell. And death
and hell will be cast into the lake of fire for eternity. (Revelations
20:13,14) Revelations 20:15
Those who are not saved will be cast into the lake of fire. Only
the saved will live forever with
Christ. Christ will reign for eternity in the new heaven and
new earth. (Revelation 21:1)
Revelations 21:4
Now for the signs of Christ’s coming. Luke 17:26-36 As
it was in the days of Noah and Lot so
will it be near the time of Christ’s return. In Noah’s day immorality
was rampant. Lot’s day
Sodom was known for its gross immorality and homosexuality. San
Francisco is a modern
Sodom and New Orleans is a modern day Gomorra. In Noah’s day
there were many divorces and
marriages. Today half of all marriages end in divorce.
In Noah’s day there were many who
partied and got drunk, just like modern day USA. In Noah’s day
God destroyed the wicked with
a flood and in Lot’s day God poured out fire from Heaven and burnt
up Sodom and Gomorra. In
our day God will soon pour out His vengeance upon the sinfulness here.
In the New Testament Christ tells some signs. Mark 13:3-7,22
In the end times there will be
many false prophets and religions. Today we have more religions
than at any time in recorded
history. The Jehovah Witnesses, Mormons, Moonies, Buddhists,
etc. We have literally thousands
to hundreds of thousands of false prophets and religions. Many
like Benny Hin claim to be of
God then teach heresy like “ye are little Gods”. We have false teachers
like the late Jack Hyles who taught you don't have to repent of your sins to be
saved, but the Bible says that Jesus came to save us from our sins not in our
sins. False preachers
abound today which is a sign that Christ is coming soon. Matthew 24:4-8 There will be wars and
rumors of wars. In Iraq there is a war, Afghanistan, Bosnia, Angola, many of the African countries are fighting wars,
all of which is a sign that Christ is coming soon. There will be famines, many countries
around the world have famines today. There will be many earthquakes. Within the past
couple of years there has been
earthquakes in Papua New Guinea, Italy, Japan, California, the Tsunami in
Indonesia, India, etc..
We are having more seismic activity than ever before, a sign that Christ is coming soon.
V13. Because of great iniquity many
will wax cold. We are in the Laodicean church age Revelations
3:14-22 Today most churches are lukewarm. Most churches are not on fire for God, but just
maintain the status quo. This again is another sign that Christ is coming soon.
With all these signs that Christ is coming back we’d better be ready!
James 5:8,9 When Jesus
returns we’d better be saved and living for Him. Matthew 16:27
We will be rewarded according
to that we have done for Christ. First, we must be saved without
salvation we will never be
raptured. All will be judged both the living and the dead 2nd
Timothy 4:1 In that day of
judgment there will be a separation of the saved from the lost. Matthew
13:49,50 We need to be
ready for that day. Matthew 24:44 The Lord’s coming will
be as a thief in the night. 2nd Peter
3:10-14. We do not know the exact time of the Lord’s return,
but by the signs of the time we can
be sure the time is near, so we need to be ready. Christians
get on fire for God, yield your
entirety to God. Unsaved repent and turn from your sins to God
and accept Jesus as your Lord
and Saviour. Tomorrow may be too late. We all need to live
as if this were our last day on earth
and we were going to have to give an account of ourselves to God at
any time. For very soon we
will be doing just that.
