Psalms 1:5,6
Introduction: Sinners will not stand in the congregation of the righteous.  In the Judgment of the righteous, only the redeemed of God will be there.  God will give out gifts and rewards at this judgment!  Some people may not get much -- the skin of their teeth Christians that were pew stuck, will not be rewarded like those who remained constantly faithful.  This will be a judgment of the Redeemed.  Romans 8:1, John 3:18.  We are free from condemnation! No Christian will ever be in hell, nor will any unbeliever be in heaven.  Romans 5:9  We are saved from the wrath of God.  Ephesians 2:8,9

I.     The Judgment of the righteous.  Revelations 22:12  All Christians have an Eternal
home and rest.  The curse of sin is gone.  Working by the sweat of the brow will
be eliminated. Genesis 3:17-19  Heaven will be a place of rest.
        A.     All who have been redeemed have an eternal home.  Hebrews 10:34, Hebrews
                4:9-16, Proverbs 10:25.

        B.     God is the God of the living.  Matthew 22:32, Proverbs 11:4  John 3:16  When a
Christian dies they are still alive!

        C.     We have an inheritance through Jesus Christ.  Revelation 21:7, James 1:12.
This inheritance is given to those who endure.

II.     Rule & Reign with Christ  Revelations 20:6
        A.    We will be rewarded for using our talents and not for burying them.  Matthew
                25:23,34

                 1.     Not all Christians will rule & reign.  All will have everlasting life, but not all
will rule and reign with Christ.  What we do on earth determines the level
                         of our future rewards.

        B.     Suffering for Christ results in reigning with Him.  2 Timothy 2:12,  Matthew
                5:11,12, Romans 8:17 -- Suffering for God has a reward!  Hebrews 11:25,26

       C.      In order to suffer for Christ, we must be different from this world.  Some
Christians will never suffer, because their lives are so close to the world’s
they are indecipherable.  We must be separated unto God.

               1.     God helps in times of trouble.  We don’t suffer persecution alone or in
our strength.  Hebrews 4:15,16, I Peter 5:7.  He takes us through it, all
we have to be is willing and let Him have control.  Proverbs 11:9

III. The reward for diligently seeking God.  Hebrews 11:6.  Seek God First.  Matthew
6:33.  Our Treasure determines the location of our heart.  Matthew 6:19-21.  The
heart brings actions from the inward man.  Matthew 6:4,6-8, 7:7-9

        A.     God sees the things which are in secret, both the Good an the Bad.  Job had
secret sins, King David had secret sins, but they weren’t a secret to God.  They
also prayed secretly to God and were rewarded openly.

        B.     Our actions are to be from the heart and to please God, not to be seen by people
                Ephesians 6:6-8

IV. Reward for doing!

        A.    Jesus is our example! Hebrews 5:8,9

        B.    The way we are motivated to the doing is through the Word of God.  Psalms
19:7-12.  We need the nourishment of God’s Word to produce the fruit.

        C.    Psalm 58:11  There is a reward for the righteous.  Proverbs 12:30  He who wins
souls is wise.  Proverbs 12:31  The rewards are earthly, as well as, heavenly
                rewards.

V. Addendum -- Crowns

        A.    Incorruptible crowns.  The will never rust or fade away.  I Corinthians 9:25, I
                Peter 5:4

        B.    Crown of Righteousness.  2 Timothy 4:8

        C.    Crown of Glory, Joy, etc.  I Thessalonians 2:19, Phillipians 4:1, Revelations 4:4

        D.    Crown of Life.  James 1:12, Revelations 2:10, 3:11

        E.    Crowns will be cast at Jesus’ feet.  Revelations 4:10,11

        F.    Christ is crowned.  Hebrews 2:7

Conclusion: There are rewards for faithfully serving God.  We would be smart to surrender
totally to Him and earn the crowns and rewards available to us.  The gift of Salvation cannot be earned.
