Surrender All To Christ!

Please Read This Story

A missionary from our church came and spoke. This missionary our church has supported for many, many years. He and his wife went into a country called Papua New Guinea. This country is located North of Australia. When he originally went there, they had some tribes which practiced cannibalism. Even today the nation is primitive by American & European standards. He and his wife risked there lives to reach the lost people in these tribes. They have spent many years working with these people and have been able to establish several Baptist churches in PNG. On a trip home they brought with them some of the people who have been led to the Lord under there ministry over the years. These ladies are some of the most special people you ever want to meet. They are down to business with God. They are totally yielded to Christ. They sang two songs at our church, one was 'Thank You For Giving To The Lord' & The other was 'I Surrender All'. When they sang 'Thank you for giving to the Lord, I am a life that was changed.' That was so powerful, because without the sacrifices that Harley & Sandy Schrock made, those people would not have ever heard the Word of God and had their lives changed. God used Harley Schrock, a man who has totally surrendered his life to God, to lead those ladies and many more to the Lord Jesus Christ.

In his sermon, Rev. Schrock preached on surrendering all to Christ. The title of his sermon was "Don't Pray Dragging Your Feet" Prayer is the most important aspect of any ministry. Prayer is powerful. When we pray that God sends laborers into His harvest, we should not pray dragging our feet. Many people pray that God will raise up pastors and missionaries, yet when God calls them they drag their feet. This sermon hit me hard, because in 1995 I was called into the ministry and until this Sunday, I have been dragging my feet. This Sunday, I surrendered all to Christ. I was saved in '84 through placing my faith in the redemptive work of the Lord Jesus Christ. Sunday, I surrendered to God and will no longer drag my feet. God has a right to control everyone. He has purchased those of us who are saved out of the slave market of sin. So we are not our own, but we belong to Christ. So He has the right to control us, he is our Lord and Master. God created the heavens and the earth, and everyone who walks the top side of this earth. Being our creator, also, gives Him the right to control us. When we pray for God to do something and then He calls us to do what we were praying for we cannot tell God "no". 'You cannot say no if you are truly praying.' When the Lord Jesus was on the earth, He prayed, yet he backed up His prayers with action and with Surrenderance to the will of the Heavenly Father. Pastor Schrock read the following verses

John 12:23-26, And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.
Except a grain of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abides alone. We must die totally to the world and the things of this world. We have to surrender all to God. In order to be fruitful in our Christian walk we must be in total surrenderance to God. 'We are wasting our lives if we are not living them in the light of eternity'.
Mark 8:34,35 And when he had called the people into him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it. Harley Schrock was and still is willing to risk his life for the cause of Christ. He truly has surrendered all to Christ. From his work several churches in PNG have been established, and many people have been saved through the work of a surrendered man of God. I encourage you to surrender yourself totally to God, so that God can use you. Pray that God will send laborers into the harvest, but be willing to go if God calls you. Seeing those ladies who were saved under brother Schrock's ministry singing 'thank you for giving to the Lord, I am a life that was changed' brought tears to my eyes. I do not cry, after all I'm a man and it isn't macho to cry. But there were a dozen ladies who were part of their church in PNG who had been saved through the work of the Schrock's telling people the good news of Christ. To see that when you pray for your missionaries, that God answers; To see that when you give money to missions, God uses that money; To see that when you do what the Lord leads you to do, many people can be led to the Lord. Total surrenderance to God is the key to reaping the souls. Those ladies are saved due to the generosity of Jesus, the Schrock's, the supporting churches, and the individuals who gave their prayers and money. I encourage you to pray for your missionaries, but when you pray do not drag your feet.
