Repentant Prayer

Jesus, I seek to do thy will
But sometimes mine gets in the way
I want to do good, but do ill
I need to drop to my knees and pray

Lord give me the strength to resist temptation
Help me to follow you all the way
Help me to live like a new creation
And remember for my sins you did pay

God show me the path to take
And deliver me from the evil one
For sin cause my heart to break
And from its way truly shun

Heavenly Father make me more like you
I give you my heart and soul
Cleanse me within, my faith renew
Pleasing you is my life’s goal

Lord I give my self to you right now
Over my life take complete control
Wash me in the precious fount
With your blood I am made whole

Lord let me walk by faith and not by sight
May I not yield to the adversary
Hold me up with your Holy might
Thank you for taking my burdens to carry

Whatsoever is not of faith is sin
Let me always walk by faith
Help me not to fall into sin again
May you always guide my way

Everything I say and do is for you
Lord may you get all of the glory
You are faithful and true
Let me tell the old old story

God I give my life back to you
My money, my love, my time, and my future
I am here for you to use
I am the pupil and you are the tutor

Take my entirety now
And lead me in thy paths
Show me the way when I don’t know how
I give you all that I have
