  • Brief History of BCC

Binalbagan Catholic College(BCC) Began as Binalbagan Catholic College High Shcool in 1957. The starting of a Catholic school in the area was a top priority of the Columban Fathers when they came to Negros Island in 1950.Thiss was in accord with the idea of the Catholic Church all over the world. At that period, there were very few schools at higher education in the province of Negros.
  • The year 1951 saw the need for a Catholic College in the south of Negros to help the poor students get a Catholic education in the tertiary level as they could not afford to the college in the cities. Thus, Binalbagan Catholic College was established in that year together with the BCC Elementary Department.
  • The school year 1978-1979 was marked by a significant change in the administration of BCC. For the first time, the Columban Fathers turned over the adminastration completely to the presentaion Sisters of the Blessed Virgin Mary (PBVM). During the term of Sr. Aguila Sy from 1978-1985, BCC launcehed its program for social transformation in order to keep the thrust and orientation of the school. Seminars and workshops were conductedto help update the teachers knowledge and competency and to use materials relevant to the needs and situation in the Philippines. BCC became an affiliate of Education Forum, one of the mission partners of the Association of Major Religious Superiors of the Philippines.
  • During the critical period in the history of the country from 1982-1986, BCC once more stood on the side of the oppressed.
  • The 90's were marked by the rise in the academic competence of graduates from elementary, high school and college levels. The elementary and high school departments consistently made 100% passing in the national academic test. In addition, the high school ranked as one of the twenty provincial high schools in the country. Our graduates obtained ratings higher than the national avarage in the national board examinations. The CPA (Certified Public Accountant) and PLET (Philippine Licensure Examination for Teachers) board examinations, we have had graduates in the national topnothers list.
  • After more than 50 years of dedicated service for quality Catholic education, BCC continues to strengthen its commitment towards the realizations f its vision and mission as it steadfastly pursues the work towards being an accredited institution.
