MY *NSYNC EXPERIENCE CON’T

After meeting the man of dreams (literally), Mr. Chris Kirkpatrick, we were forced to leave, because time did not permit me to simply stand and observe every move and motion that Chris made. It is a shame, because I live my life looking for Chris, and the boys of *NSYNC daily, even when I KNOW they are not suppose to be in ATL, and yet, Chris is right there, right in front of me, and guaranteed to be there for another hour and a half, and yet I have to leave to get ready for sound check, oh the problems of being a fan and having to be everywhere at one time. So, I start my passage away from Chris (sadness) and con’d to go outside, where the hundreds of fans had seen me on the jumbo-tron about an hour before…and suddenly feeling recognized and embarrassed, I hear someone yelling “CAROLYN!” and I looked in the direction of the yells, and saw Lindsey and Amy (my neighbors) jumping up and down, and so I started to run down the ramp towards them. Basically, there were lots of screaming and laughing when I got there. Everyone in line seemed to recognize me, AHHHH.

It was kinda weird, so I was explaining my moment with Chris, and my excitement, when they mentioned, “we saw you on TV and called your mom to tell her” LOL great, I thought, now my family is gonna think I am more nuts then before. I wished them luck during their time for meeting Chris and left, wanting so badly to stay. Then, off to the hotel (just happened to be the same one they were staying at, who would have thought, lol) and right when I arrive, I hear the news “*NSYNC is about to check out” and there was a line of tons of girls (not staying at the hotel I bet-luckily I was-we had gotten a room there) and so I set up my spot just in case, and then I spotted Lonnie, my favorite of the bodyguards for *NSYNC, and of course no one else cares about the bodyguards, band members, or others, but I do. So, I made eye contact to Lonnie from afar and took a pic then smiled at him and made bunny ears with my fingers on my head, cause if you know Lonnie, he was in *NSYNC’s “I drive myself crazy” video wearing bunny ears and he saw me and started laughing (he even bent over laughing, like I was crazy and he liked it-hard to explain) but I had a picture that was taken of me and him previously like a year before at the same hotel so I thought I might ask him to sign it, so I slowly walked up to him, not wanting to frighten him, sometimes bodyguards walk away from fans because they don’t wanna be friendly to them, its their job to hate us, so I said softly “Lonnie, please don’t walk away from me”, even though he wasn’t, and I said “I have a pic of you and me that I wanted you to sign if you don’t mind” and he was smiling and said “ok, sure” and I said “cause you are a star” and he said “nah, I am just another face in the crowd” and I said, “nope you are a star cause you take care of the boys I love” and he laughed…I showed him the pic to sign and I said “do you remember this day, it was about a year ago outside this hotel, remember you had a hole in your shirt and I commented on it” and he laughed and said “I might remember it a little” course he probably didn’t but I don’t care, he is such a cutie and so sweet.

After meeting Lonnie again, I said thanks and said hey to Reuben, the guitarist, he is so cute, and sweet, he said hey and I was on my way back to my spot to see *NSYNC leave, then I spotted Steve, Joey’s bro, I have met him before, no pic with him yet, but I was not in the mood, he tends to be a little distant so I just took a pic of him from afar and let that be. Then I love T-Roy the bassist, and he was walking out our way and NO ONE knew who he was, and I just kinda said a little too loudly “T-ROY!” in a happy way, like hey there he is, kinda way, and he looked at me and said, “HEY!” and all the fans looked at me like I knew him, lol it was funny. After that, we found out that Queen Latifah and the B-52’s were at the hotel as well, but no one really cared, lol. After that, I really had to book it to make it to sound check, but my other friends didn’t have sound check so they got to stay and afterwards they saw, in this order, Lance, Joey, Chris, JC, and Justin come out of the hotel, so I lucked out, but I did get to go to sound check, so.

I got to sound check about 2:30pm, 30 minutes late in meeting my party to get my blessed pass, but Tonya was already there with my pass, so we were ready to go, except we were ready to go for nothing. They kept us in lines like sardines for three hours, when they were suppose to let us in at 3:00pm notice that I got there at 2:30 and it was horrible, I saw FOUR ambulances, and people were going crazy, there were no venders, no water fountains, no nothing, and it was HOTT, never felt more HOT in my life, we were gonna die, and we were convinced that *NSYNC was trying to kill us, slowly and painfully, it was bad. And for a minute I concluded that maybe it wasn’t worth dieing to see *NSYNC at sound check, but this was my first experience at it, and I certainly didn’t want to miss this either. I spotted Kate (Chris’s sister) Spencer and Owen (her boys) going into the sound check and wanted to say hey, but couldn’t find her again and couldn’t get to her, oh well.

After an extremely LONG time of waiting, we were let in. When we got seated, my camera battery conveniently died, isn’t that great? So, we had good seats, about ten seats away from the catwalk and maybe 25 rows back on the floor, of course. Justin was playing guitar when we were walking in, and either everyone was seeing spots and about to die or just didn’t even notice that Justin was there until about twenty minutes into it, but I had noticed him, just didn’t care all that much, by this time, I was angry that the DOME didn’t do anything to help us fans outside, but once all the members came out, I was pumped again. Justin disappeared after we were all seated to the back, then out came in this order, I believe, Lance, JC, Chris, Justin, then Joey (After a while) Joey was later than the others and it was cute cause they were like “c’mon Joey!” and when he finally came out, he came out where the band is set up so he needed Lonnie to help him down, it was so cute. “Lonnie, please help me!” Like a little boy, and Lonnie carried him down, it was adorable, see why I love Lonnie?

Anyways, they started to sing “This I promise you” Grammy version and it sounded beautiful, I love them. Then they answered questions from about six people, but what stunk about that was they were facing the other section so all we saw were their butts, and yes that was a good view, but I kinda wanted views of their facial looks and what not as well. Questions were pretty good, at least no one asked “boxer or briefs” I was gonna scream if they did. We all know they wear boxer briefs. LoL I can’t remember ALL the questions but one was “what would you do right now in ATL if you weren’t gonna have a concert tonight” and answers were “six flags” from Chris, “I was just at Cowboys last night” From Lance, AHHHH, so could have gone there, lol, and I don’t remember the other answers, so then someone asked “how many girls have ya’ll kissed” SO CUTE, a little kid, it sounded like anyways (I couldn’t see) and they all died laughing, JC said something as to that was the best question and they had never heard that one before, lol, and Lance said “we don’t kiss and tell” and that was all I heard of that.

After questions were asked and answered, they sang “POP” and It was awesome, everyone was dancing like we were at a club, it was great! Then they said “bye we have to get ready for the concert now” and they left, except JC, he saw some friends of his in the first row and told them to come to the back (where the fans were leaving out of) and I saw TIMMY, from Passions-the stupid soap opera-he plays the doll, he is a little person (about 18 years old) and Tonya and I screamed, “TIMMY” but doh that isn’t his REAL name, but he didn’t turn around anyways, sadness but it was him! He is adorable too. We were more happy with seeing Timmy than JC who was right in front of us passing through fans giving hugs on the way to see his friends, and Bobbie (his girlfriend), Timmy and their crew went off the to the side door with JC’s bodyguard pulling him away from the fans, and its funny cause I couldn’t have cared less. I was so fed up with the problems of me seeing them, that I was in a daze and ready to go to bed and eat something (cause I have yet to do that still in two days).

After sound check, back to the hotel. *NSYNC had checked out so I didn’t have to worry about seeing them there anymore, and then we hurried to get ready. We were about to get on the elevator when these three guys in nice outfits, bling bling ice, and all with cell phones (one on the cell phone at the time) and I swear I thought I was with the crew of Brian McKnight, two of them looked exactly like him to me, and the other was a cute Latino. So, we stepped cautiously into the elevator, with me in my *NSYNC handprint shirt, looking kinda obvious. The one guy turned to me and said “so who has been smoking?” and I said “we don’t smoke, no one, OH, we are staying with smokers though, can you smell it on us” and the Latino said “you reek of it, bad” and we were so embarrassed “sorry, I can’t even smell it on us, that’s crazy” oh well, we said bye to them, and “have a good night.”

We were dying of thirst so we went to the bar, THE PALM inside the hotel where Chris had been hanging out the night before, while I was conveniently at Nordstrom’s (but my friends had seen him in there) so we could get waters. This is funny cause I wanted a bottle of water, not a BOTTLE but a plastic bottle, lol, the bartender said, “Tap or a bottle” and I said bottle, lol, oops, they gave me a HUGE, GLASS bottle looking like a champagne bottle, costing $4. So whatever, I took it and it was the BEST water I have ever had in my life. So, us with our bottles walked right out the bar and onto the streets to hit MARTA (our train) to go to the concert. Thinking back now, I am not sure we should have left the hotel with our drinks. Kate heard someone on the street say “they are drinking” lol oops, we weren’t really, just drinking water, in a BIG bottle. So then onto the concert. I finally found my seat, WAY IN THE FRONT, whoo hoo, it pays off to camp out 17 hours in the freezing cold for row 15, ten seats away from the catwalk, and VERY CLOSE TO MY BOYS. I met an online friend who I was so excited to meet finally, and sat to enjoy the concert, with fears that it would not meet my expectations, esp. with all the other problems I had been having, I was just hoping it would be good. Well, it rocked, they exceeded my expectations, and I can’t wait to see it again, cause I HAVE TOO, It was just too good! They are incredible entertainers. I loved every moment.

After the concert, I was about to fall over and needed something to drink badly, so we headed back to the hotel, and I needed ice. Our ice machine on our floor, Floor 14, was broken, so I went to get on the elevator and guess who it is? NO, not *NSYNC, remember they left, but it was the cute Latino guy and the Brian McKnight look alike, and again for the second time, I jumped a little thinking it was Brian again. The Brian look-a-like said “machine ain’t working?” and I said “nope” and the Latino guy said “ours is working on 16” so I said, “ok well I will try 12 (cause we were going down anyways) and I will try 16 if it ain’t working-thanks” and as I was leaving “have a good night guys” and the doors were shutting and the Latino guy said “hey, I will get it for ya” but I was gone, funny though ey? What were the chances of me getting on the same elevator as them again, four hours later?

So, then we all fell asleep with sweet dreams of *NSYNC, and woke up kinda more so refreshed since this was our first good night rest after the events. We started to check out and realized that we needed pics of all our adventures in the hotel, ya know, where they were spotted and where Chris was sitting in THE PALM, etc. so we did that, then talked to Dion, one of the employees there and talked to him about *NSYNC and how nice he thought they were and made a friend, he was so nice. Then as we were walking out of the hotel, a woman saw us leaving and said “ya know, *NSYNC was staying there on floor 16” and we looked at each other and was like oh my gosh, that is a non-secured floor and the floor those bling bling guys were staying on, AHHHH! Lol, it was exciting! So that was my adventure….

My crew and I went to eat pizza at Felini’s and discussed all the events, and I still have yet to come down from it all, I still can hardly get to sleep at night and I realized how foolish it was of me to doubt anything about *NSYNC and their show, it was AWESOME! And I will never regret the things I did, I just need to do it better next time! It was the best and most exhausting day of my life. And by the end of the whole experience I had lost 15 pounds, so guarantee weight loss, is to fall in love with a group and try and find them, stress about it, get sick, and don’t eat or sleep. Also, don’t follow my advice! I MET CHRIS, AHHH! SO, that is it, no more stories anymore till next time, I promise! Lol, hope I didn’t bore you again!
