CHRISTMAS SURVEY

What movie or tv special do you have to watch in order to feel like it's officially Christmas?
*Every year the dreaded A Christmas Story comes on and honestly it does not feel like Christmas without watching it <.giggle> Also, It's a Wonderful Life and A Miracle On 34th Street (The most recent version)

Presents opened Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?
*Christmas morning. In fact, we only attend Christmas Eve service and then come home to hot chocolate and light traditional snacks for dinner.

How old were you the last time you had your picture made with Santa?
*Wow, I am not sure I ever really had a picture taken with Santa. At least, I don't remember seeing any. I do remember visiting Santa, however I don't really know what age I stopped visiting him.

How early (or late) are usually up on Christmas morning?
*When I was younger, my brother and I would be the first up at like 6AM or as early as we could get up without my parents getting too upset <.grin>. Nowadays we usually wait till around 9ish or so, so my parents can have a bit of sleep.

Are you able to sleep well on Christmas Eve?
*I have this weird characteristic where I get really sick and feel ill when I get nervous or really excited (need an example?) and so up until a couple years ago I would not be able to sleep well at ALL the night before Christmas, however since I have been getting older and a little more able to control my excitement of the holiday....I can sleep better.

Favorite family tradition:
*Well, when I was younger all my siblings and I would hang out the night before Christmas and really bond. We would tell stories of every year and how much fun we always have. Then, in the morning we would all walk into the family room together to find that Santa had come. Every year is always so much fun with the whole family here...it really lights up the entire house with happiness!

Did you ever try to catch Santa?
*I think I always pretty much knew who "Santa" was, but I do remember playing with the tradition in keeping cookies out for him to eat as well as *thinking* I heard reindeer holves on the roof, but given the fact that we never had a fireplace, I never waited up to find him coming down the non-existent chimney. <.grin>

Did you look for your presents around the house?
*Well, since my siblings taught me everything I know pretty much, yea they also taught me how to sneak around, but I always felt so guilty even looking, so I never really let myself find anything, although one year I do remember going with my brother and finding a nintendo my parents bought for all us kids. I felt SO bad that I never wanted to sneak a peek again!

Did you ever open a wrapped present and wrap it back up?
*No, never got that far, I would feel too guilty doing that. I would think someone would find out, so I could never do that.

Did you leave treats for Santa? (if so what kind)
*I did leave Oreos one year that I remember, and milk too of course!

Did you leave treats for the reindeer? (if so what kind)
*Umm, nope guess I didn't think about it.

Do you bake Christmas goodies? (what kind?)
*My momma makes Christmas cookies and I help decorate them, but that is about it.

Do you buy presents for your pets?
*Yep, Honey gets her own stocking full of pigs ears, bones, and stuffed animals for her to rip up <.grin>.

If you could spend Christmas anywhere in the world (with your family or alone) where would you spend it?
*I love spending Christmas with my family in our home here, it is just so traditionally and meaningful to me through all the years with so many memories, I couldn't imagine having it anywhere else.

What do you wish you could do during the holiday season that you never get to?
*With it being the season of loving, regardless of the family love, I would really love to have a special guy in my life to share it with...I know that it will take time to find and I am willing to wait, I just can't wait for that holiday season that I can share it with someone I love and who loves me too.

Have you ever had a white Christmas?
*Yep, I remember at least twice when Georgia saw a White Christmas and it was so much fun!

Can you ice skate?
*Can I? yea I can try. I am not the best skater, but I do try.

Do you own a copy of "The Night Before Christmas?"
*Umm, not a video copy, but I do have the book. <.grin>

Approximately how many presents will you buy this year?
*Well, I have a big family. So...in just my immediate family I will be purchasing about twelve gifts (and that is one per person, where I may buy a couple for each nephew/niece). Yea....but it's worth it to see them all open them on Christmas morning!

How many will be mailed?
*All my immediate family will be here for Christmas, thankfully. I will mail out Christmas cards though to all my friends <.grin>.

Do you enjoy wrapping gifts?
*I used to hate it, but now I have come to enjoy it. I am not perfect at wrapping, but I do enjoy it a lot more and work harder to make them look better <.grin>.

Christmas music you associate with your childhood (artists/albums)
*All the traditional Christmas songs like I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas and O Holy Night as well as the traditionally religious holiday songs we sang in church growing up.

Current favorite Christmas CD
*Home For Christmas By *NSYNC. By far, their best album and my favorite Christmas Album that I can listen to all year around.

Early shopping or last minute?
*I *try* to every year start early, however it always seems to sneak up on me so I normally get all my shopping done about a week before Christmas Day.

Favorite traditional Christmas songs
*White Chrismas
I saw Three Ships come Sailing in...
Oh Holy Night *NSYNC's version

Favorite non-traditional Christmas songs
*The Christmas Song From The Grinch
It's Christmas From A Muppet Christmas Carol
The Only Gift *NSYNC
Please Come Home For Christmas Jon Bon Jovi version

Do you wear Christmas jewelry?
*Umm, no.

What is your most vivid Christmas memory?
*Staying up late at night with my siblings on Christmas Eve telling the story of "A Night Before Christmas" when I was little.

What is your most cherished holiday memory?
*Just being with my whole family during the holiday...and spending time laying under my lit tree thinking and dreaming of how I wanted my life to be. <.grin>

Best present you've ever given someone:
*Since I never really had the funds to give everyone something that they *really* wanted, I really appreciated being able to help give my momma tickets to Paul McCartney for Mother's Day (I know it wasn't a Christmas present), but she always wanted to see a Beatle, and he is her favorite and she LOVED it. It was the BEST surprise and totally worth it!
