Wynter's Thaw
Fingers of frost
melt under the smile
of an ardent sun.
Drops of crystal
reflecting rainbows
only to shatter
on rocky ground
Trees bring out
their verdant coats
to welcome spring.
Rivers break free
of their glacial reigns
to run wildly
through the plains
Fragile flowers bloom
under the sun's
warm caress.
The blushing wind
carries the message
of the heady desire
of wantom blossoms
Bird song breaks
through the monopoly
of frigid silence.
Echoed by the melody
of giggling brooks
and thunderous laughter
of majestic waterfalls
Clouds chase each other
across a canvass
of pale indigo.
A mischievous breeze
runs invisible fingers
through the perfect mirror
of a comtemplative lake.
...and Wynter
falls asleep
lulled by the symphony
of a waking world.
