I’M ALIVE

It’s been some time since I’ve written anything for this site for a very simple reason, I’ve been sick, like really sick!

It seems that last August my body decided that I had been alive for too long and tried to do something about it.  I threw a gallstone and my pancreas tried to digest it, in the process digesting most of itself.  This caused me some serious discomfort and 4 months in the hospital!  I was in a state of limbo, not really in need of surgery (Allah be praised!) but not entirely out of the woods as it were and they kept me there to run tests, tests and more tests.  I had so damned many ct scans that I became magnetic and started attacting small metal objects. (Just kidding.)  And, of course spending that much time in the hospital meant I got every strain of pneumonia known to man and three that aren’t.  I nearly died three times and if the truth be told I gave up.  The only reason I survived was my wife.  But the upshot of it all was that I was the one in a zillion who did not need to be operated on and I’m told I’m going to end up in textbooks because of it.  In fact my doctor is running all over the country showing off my innards at various conferences.

Of course what he does not know and I’m not telling him, is that my wife assembled the most bizarre collection of healing methods available.  I had prayers, drumming, psionics, magick and almost human sacrifice directed at me.  In addition I had a literal WALL covered with get-well cards.

In any event, I came home at the end of December and was so weak I could hardly stand up for more than a couple of minutes.

But now I’m fully recovered and back to my old, evil self again.  It feels very good to sit down in front of my console and play with the dials as if they were the nipples of a young woman.  And soon the final experiments with a new gadget will be done and if all goes well ...

Well, I better not talk about that.

It’s good to be alive and once again, I’m immortal until proven otherwise!
