Each staue and picture tells a story of life
"The burden of life" this sculpture depicts how man have to carry their burden on thier shoulders their whole life. (i don't know what the "burden" is tho...)
"The fountain of life" There is no water coming out of this thing cause its winter... the water is suppose to represent life.

One of the many sculptures in the park. All the scupltures are about the life cycle.
The tall sculptures tell the story of how man struggle. At the bottom is the old and the sick and they try to climb up the pole. at the top are childern and they are reaching out to something. That something is left up to the imagine.
Holmenkollen Ski Jump. This ski jump is very famous, it was used in the 1952 Olympics and is still current used eveyr March for the World Championships.
Ok, we were only allowed to go half way up the ski jump... This is a pic looking down after half way up... it doesn't look very steep from the picture, but its actually quite scary looking down like that
I tried to get a very good picture of the upper half of the ski jump. I was so affraid i was gonna fall down the stairs when i took this picture!
This is a wall mural panted on the city hall's wall. There is a story behind this. Its about a Saint that tried to save a pregnet women from some people that are trying to kill her, those guys shot him with 3 arrows and he died and was tied to a anchor and thrown into the water. In the picture he holds the 3 arrows in one hand and the stone in the other with the women laying in front of him. I belive the city is named after him. I forget his full name, somthing Oslo.
The Palace guard. I like the Swedish one better...
The changing of the guards. This one really sucked, there wasn't a band or anything, it was done in about 5 minutes as compared to sweden it took about an hour.
A real viking ship. they found it in a grave. the vikings burried the important people with lots of jewels, and slaves and stuff, like the Egyptions. They believed that they needed a means of transportation to reach thier next life, so the vikings were always burried with ships or wagons.

The Royal Palace. The Royal Family actually lives here... its much smaller then the one in Stockholm tho...
A viking horse drawn wagon. I actually learned a lot here, vikings wern't just theives, the were also traders and explorers. They really have a bad rep.
All along the coast, you can see lots of sailboates, they said there are suppose to be more, but because its almost winter most people have already took their boats out of the water
This picture was taken on top of their military base. Its an old fort with a castle in it. It just really surpiseing that their military base is a tourist attraction.... i actually saw real military trucks and people training and stuff....Since the military actually still works in this fort, your not really allowed to take pictures of the base, but you are allowed to take picutres of the fort.
