Standard Four ~ Assessment

Below is an actual test that I gave to my students.  The purpose of the test was to assess a number of areas simultaneously and easily.  In particular, since the students had spent three days reading a story and learning the vocabulary and forms in it, I felt they needed to be tested on what they had learned.  If the students have read and understood the story, then the test will actually be quite reasonable for them.  They combine their knowledge of the story, the forms, and the vocabulary to figure out what goes in the blanks.  I am usually quite satisfied with the results I get from this kind of test; it seems quite reliable.  I also like how it encourages students to read the text repeatedly, keep word lists, and memorize a word's context instead of just its definition.
