| in 1989 Sudan'sexport earnings amounted to 3,023.1 million English pound. Exports earning dropped to an estimated 1,800 million English pound in 1990. In addition to oil exportrs, the Sudan also exports petroleum products, sesame, livestock, groundnuts, gum Arabic, and sugar. The main export partners are China, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates respectively. In 2004 Sudan had 847.2 million reserves of foriegn exchange and gold. Sudan has been the Second world's largest expoter of longstaple cotton and cotton exporters constitute more than 50 percent, second place gum Arabic and peanuts expanded to occupy the position, however was not sustained. Sesame became the third most valuable export. Oil has also brought vital political dividends. China which buys about 80% of Sudan oil exports. |

| Sudan is the largest country in land area of the African continent. Sudan is dominated by the Nile and it's trubutaries, with raising mountains raising along the Red it's Sea coast and along the western boarder withChad. Sudan's name in Arabic means & land of Blacks Sudan is located in the northeastern Africa. Bounded on the north byEgypt, on the east by theRed Sea, Eritria, Ethiopia, on the south by Kenya,Uganda,and Democratic Republic of the Congo and on the west by theCentral African Republic, Chad andLibya. Since the independence from Britain in 1956, a north- south war has dominated Sudan's history. Putting Arab Muslims in the northen desert against the black Christians and animists in the souther wetlands. Muslims Arab control the government in Khartoum but are only 39 percent of the population. Blacks or African, make up 52 percent of Sudanese and are most numerous in the southern and western Sudan. The country is further divided with hundreds of blacks, Arab, and non-arab ethnicities, tribes, and languages. |
